Your high duty!

There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy. By being happy we sow anonymous benefits upon the world.Robert Louis Stevenson

I’d say that by being happy we sow ‘enormous’ benefits upon the world! Being happy; knowing how to be happy and knowing how to keep others happy is certainly one our highest duties.

But it must begin with you! When you’re happy you give others permission to be happy as well. You transmit higher vibrations to everyone around you. The physical space, the people and others touched by these people, all feel the reverberations of the happiness that you exude and transmit.

You can be truly happy only if you’re comfortable in your own skin, live a fulfilling life with big goals and with integrity. Happiness is also a product of living in the moment, trusting that all works out for the best in good time. Happiness is the result of good thinking and of appreciating beauty.

How can you be happy, now? What are you grateful for?

Living the Science of Mind

The greatest power!

The greatest power is often simple patience.E. Joseph Cossman

Patience can and does go a long way. Peer into your mind and you’ll find many areas, habits, goals and desires where you’re not being patient. You want a certain result and you want it real soon! How realistic is that? And does that impatience really get you what you want? Is what you want; a real need?

You’ll find a great satisfaction and yes a great power when you can just let things be. If you don’t chase anything, but instead are patient, that thing tends to come to you much sooner. Discover that power, the power of patience! Try it on one particular life aspect after you recognize your impatience with it and see what happens! As events turn you’ll either be surprised with that which you always wanted or you’ll discover that what turned up in your life instead is far better for you.

How do you self-sabotage?

It is hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head.Sally Kempton

We have an internal saboteur, a gremlin, who keeps rearing its ugly head, several times a day, sometimes all day.

Once we can recognize that naysayer inside us, the very act of becoming aware of it, diminishes its power over us.

With practice we can let our real self, our strong, powerful, positive self, emerge. The fear subsides and the path becomes clearer by the day.

The first step must be to recognize this negative voice inside us…

Lasting happiness…

Being sensitive and responsive to human need creates genuine and lasting happiness, while such kindly attitudes safeguard the soul from the destructive influences of anger, hate, and suspicion.  – The Urantia Papers (140:5.16)

Ok, so ‘genuine and lasting’ happiness can only be found when we are aware of and service other people’s needs! Would you agree?

Taking care of ourselves, our needs, finding our own life meaning etc., is all fine and dandy, but according to this quote long term and real happiness is found only in serving others

Reminds me of an oft quoted phrase: ‘Living for a cause greater than yourself’

What is that cause you were meant to serve?

Nothing more precious…

Nothing is worth more than this day. Goethe

How often do we forget, that we don’t have all eternity (at least here and now!). We start thinking each day is just like another, mundane and boring. Don’t we all do that? Why do we forget that each day is truly unique, every moment that we breathe is like none other before? This is actually a testament to God’s creativity that everyone and everything is brand new, moment by moment and daily!

So let’s breathe in this perspective and enjoy each moment as best we can. Enjoy this day as one that’ll be gone forever soon enough. Realize that maybe this is the last year of our life, how should we live it?

Go kick some tires, smell some roses, peck some cheeks and yell ‘hooray’ once in a while, Life is Good (Part 2)!

All events are blessings…

Learn to get in touch with silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Do you ever get the feeling that everything’s got to have a purpose, that you have got to have a purpose, otherwise all that we do is for naught?

Well that’s exactly how it is. There’s a purpose and a season for everything and everyone.

Questions:

  • What is your purpose in life?
  • What have events in your life prepared you to do, today?
  • Or what are they preparing you to do eventually?

Answers to these questions and real direction can be had if you but “learn to get in touch with silence within yourself”.

Are you going to try it?

We are all meant to shine, as children do

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson

Let’s liberate ourselves, get rid of all fear, get emboldened, let the light shine through, flower into the beauty and genius that we are, jump off and fly!!!!!!!!!!!
