Why We Must ‘Act’!

You are quite capable of reacting in a happy and healthy manner to everything that happens to you.Vernon Howard

react

We are creatures of habit, so we almost always react to most life situations. Especially as they relate to folks near and dear to us. Why is that?

act!

It’s funny, if we breakdown the word re-act, it connotes a meaning quite opposite of how it’s used [a thought-provoking sidebar]! Let’s act while being fully present and conscious of what we’re doing. That way we’ll design a far superior outcome than the most likely one!

The Power Of Visualization

Man can only receive what he sees himself receiving.  – Florence Scovel Shinn

creators

God thought this world into existence. He endowed us with a similar ability that impacts our domain. Our thoughts may be keeping us away from what we truly need. Here’s an excerpt from an actual study done on visualization, reference:

Dr. Blaslotto’s study was conducted by asking a group of students who had been randomly selected to take a series of [basketball] free-throws. The percentage of made free throws were tallied. The students were then divided into three groups and asked to perform three separate tasks over a 30 day period.

The first group was told not to touch a basketball for 30 days, no practicing or playing basketball whatsoever.

The second group was told to practice shooting free throws for a half hour a day for 30 days.

The third group was to come to the gym every day for 30 days and spend a half hour with their eyes closed, simply visualizing hitting every free-throw.

After the 30 days all three groups were asked to come back and take the same number of free-throws they had in the beginning of the study.

The first group of students who did not practice at all showed no improvement.

The second group had practiced every day and showed a 24% improvement.

The third group however, the group which had simply visualized successful free-throws, showed a 23% improvement.

visualization =  reality

Such is the power of visualization, it can help change us while helping create the future we desire! In the above study the students were able to create new neural pathways just by visualizing the basketball free-throw, that’s how powerful it is!

In our change journey visualization is a very important tool, I recommend Shakti’s books on this topic.

How The Universe Supports Us…

Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.  – Ralph Waldo Emerson

decision

We must make decisions if we’re to grow and move. No decision, especially in the longer run , is wrong. We’re often afraid to decide because it means upsetting the status quo. All of creation, our lives, everything around us is driven by change, if we don’t decide a decision might be thrust upon us.

expectation

Once we decide, based on our expectations (thoughts & beliefs) the Universe rolls into action! Do you know this to be true in your life? It certainly appears to be true for mine. The Universe is a thought based system that responds to the weakest stirring of a desire. Through desires we grow, achieve, learn, experience and effect change that has an eternal import. Let’s jump in and expect to land on our feet!

Why Vision Comes First…

First say to yourself what you would be; then do what you have to do.  – Epictetus

envision

‘Say to yourself’ is all about envisioning, visualizing and affirming! We must prime ourselves with that which we want to create. With that which we want to ‘be’. There’s a clear distinction between wanting a thing versus choosing to BE in the future, more than we are today. Visualizing the end result and feeling the emotions that go with its completion will set us up nicely for its manifestation…

act

Action must follow!! Knowing that we’ll succeed, let’s take small steps towards our goal. No goal is too big for us! We are an offspring of the divine creative force, let’s never forget our heritage!!

How To Have An Abundant Life!

Thank you for the wind and rain…
Thank you for the sun.
Thank you for what I have now…
And all the good things to come.
Every morning when I wake…
Before I start my day.
I think of all the good things…
That will come my way.
Chris Cade

gratitude

glass half full

The glass is often half full, there’s a silver lining to any cloud and things always work for the betterment of all concerned. These are truths that we ought to accept and practice. By discerning the positive and what’s working in our lives we know exactly what to be thankful for in our lives! Let’s do it!

What Is Adventure?

Adventure isn’t hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply to the day to day obstacles of life — facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown and in the process, discovering our own unique potential.  – John Amatt

what do we seek?

What are we after when we seek adventure and excitement in our lives? What do we truly want?

life is an adventure

Often what we seek is not outside our current situation. If we can approach daily living as an adventure we can enrich our experience, be more fulfilled and not feel as empty. We seek something else… examining that ‘feeling’ deeply will allow us to understand ourselves, that in turn leads to greater serenity…
