Gratitude is the key!

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.Oprah Winfrey

Fear and love cannot co-exist, we must make place for love to replace fear. Forgiveness is the key to opening the channel of love; passing that love on to others increases your experience of love and joy.

Finally gratitude is the next step in cementing your foothold on a fulfilling life overflowing with joy and purpose!

After you’ve forgiven one and all (Forgiving for our own sake…), spend time just being thankful for everyone and everything in your life. You’ll feel the joy swell up in your being as you do that.

Life is simple; Life is good. Enjoy it!

Forgiving for our own sake…

The forgiving state of mind is a magnetic power for attracting good.Catherine Ponder

Yesterday I mentioned that you can light the candle of love (to remove fear) inside your heart and gain direct access to an endless flow of love from the Universal Source. The ‘how of it’ is done by simply being in a state of forgiveness.

  • Forgive yourself: At the deepest level as well as for the trifles of life.
  • Forgive all: Forgive all those who have wronged you; even those who irritate you and especially those who you resent.

When you do that you open a spiritual channel (even a physical one) where you’re now able to receive actual love from the Divine Source. Try the following specifically:

Sit and try one of the Stillness techniques. Then connect with God (Universal Mind) via prayer. If you don’t believe in a personal God then simply sit after this stillness practice; now start forgiving. As you forgive you’ll feel a corresponding lightness in your body, especially around your heart. This, over time, will allow joy to surge inside you. You will be healed of many physical and psychological ailments.  Repeat daily.

Forgiveness opens you up to receive love, which heals, at the deepest levels. To go all the way, there’s another step, tell you about it tomorrow!

The antidote to fear…

Fear and love can never be experienced at the same time. It is always our choice as to which of these emotions we want.Gerald Jampolsky

The emotions of fear and love, cannot at any given moment be felt simultaneously. Which means one simple thing: When you feel fear, or when you want to get rid of fear you ought to somehow experience love.

How do you do that? Just like other habits that we form, living in fear or dwelling in negative thoughts can be a debilitating habit. The opposite is true too. Form the habit of being happy, positive and appreciate all that you have including your loved ones.

Love also flows freely from the fountain that is inside you, the Universal Mind or God. Tomorrow I’ll share a basic step anyone can take to start feeling that love very readily!

Ultimate safety…

Considering how dangerous everything is, nothing is really very frightening.Gertrude Stein

Life is dangerous, physically, psychologically and in so many other ways. If we choose to dwell on that which can go wrong, or that which we fear then we are that much closer to it in reality.

Once you understand your own place in the Universe, figure out a relationship or understanding of the Universal Mind/Deity; then life can be more relaxing and inviting.

In an ultimate sense you’re safe, nothing can touch you or hurt you.

  • How do you feel though?
  • How can you feel at ease and peaceful most of the time?

Valuable thoughts…

The thoughts that come often unsought, and, as it were, drop into the mind, are commonly the most valuable of any we have.John Locke

There are indeed thoughts that just ‘drop’ into our minds. The valuable ones are of the kind that help us find direction, provide positive motivation, ask us to connect with someone, remind us of an important chore or illuminate that idea we were searching for!

Where do you think these thoughts come from?

I have my own theory; however the way to increase the prevalence of these thoughts, is to have a still mind through out the day. A still mind is possible when we witness all happenings and catch ourselves from being caught in the usual maelstrom that is our thoughts!

Questions to ask…

It is better to know some of the questions rather than to know all the answers.James Thurber

This is another bit of amazing advice! When we’re lost does it not help to ask rather than to assume and act as though we know? Men appear to do the latter more than women when lost driving apparently :)!

Well it’s the same way in life. To seek and find answers to life’s most difficult and mysterious questions; we must ask. If we go about thinking we already know, that would be true, except limited to what we already know!

Think in questions! Refine these questions. Journal all questions.

We grow when we do that.

Another quote:

"He that knows not,
and knows not that he knows not
        is a fool.
            Shun him

He that knows not,
and knows  that he knows not
        is a pupil.
            Teach him.

He that knows,
and knows not that he knows
        is asleep
            Wake him.

He that knows,
    and knows that he knows
        is a teacher.
            Follow him."

True empathy…

Empathy is full presence to what’s alive in the other person at this moment.John Cunningham

This is about the best advice I’ve come across when it comes to building better relationships with one and all!

Think about it, your full attention on the other person, totally connected to the very heart and soul of this individual. What would be the world-wide result if we all did this even once a day? There are 3 components mentioned:

  1. Full Presence: We’re listening and present at all levels.
  2. Alive: We seek that which is beautiful and magnificent in the other.
  3. This moment: It all occurs in the eternal Now.

Imagine the sheer power of this one exercise on all aspects of our lives!
