A Law Of Life…

… all of us must see that negative feelings toward another person is like tossing dust at him while the wind blows against us. It all comes back…it is a basic and inescapable Law of Life.Vernon Howard

it all comes back

As discussed yesterday the frequencies that we generate boomerang right back to us. We are the authors of our feelings, our thoughts and our opinions; all of these generate energies that persist. Once we recognize this law we realize that our overall well-being, emotional and physical, is often a product of our thoughts.

designing life

How can we remember to design our thoughts? Through practice and with plenty of reminders. Reminder bands, Post-It notes, calendar reminders, jewelry and other props can work wonders!

The Gift

Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.Eckhart Tolle

it’s now

As you read this you do so in what is the current moment. Let’s pay attention to the breath, to where we’re sitting, to what else is on our mind, to our surroundings, to our hopes, our desires and most of all to the observer that observes all this. When we identify directly with this observer we enter the present moment more fully. We can now experience life as it is, in all of its beauty and glory.

the future has arrived

Chances are that the moment we live right now is one we had feverishly anticipated a while ago. Even if that’s not the case we can find amazing positives about our life and situation today. Let’s whip out our journal or utter a prayer of deep thanksgiving for what we are and what we have. This moment is a miracle if we only see it as such. Let’s embrace this gift!

Thou Shalt Believe!

Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.Dr. David Schwartz

ask and it shall be given

When we believe in something, we just accept its reality. We take it as a given, we don’t question it. It becomes a reality in our mind. When we believe like this we’re really asking the Universe to make that belief an objective reality. Mind is the creator. Universal Mind (God) is the master creator, from her mind come all that we experience outside and inside us. From God’s mind comes our mind. Which is another reason why we are God’s children. Our minds, under the right conditions will cause the object of our belief to appear!

expect it

The Universe is like a giant, infinite, organic and thinking computer. It’s more than a machine of course, much more. This giant computer is knit together by the most sophisticated, evolving, solving, serving, illuminating, gathering and inspiring cosmic glue which is consciousness. So when one sub-unit (a human) ‘thinks’, all such activity is registered locally and globally. When the same human ‘creates’ within the mind which is part of the larger mind, such an expression seeks an outlet into objective reality. This is because now a universe potential, otherwise dormant, has suddenly taken birth and needs to be expressed. Such an expression will find an outlet if the conditions are right. One such condition is fulfilled when we simply expect our belief to become reality.

On Thinking And Thoughts

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.  – Shakespeare

our interpretation

In my opinion Shakespeare is not talking about absolute goodness or evil here. His comment is about how we interpret life, how we react to events and what value or meaning we might attach to situations. We experience the fruit of our interpretation. For example if someone lives according to the assumption that ‘life is not fair’, all other things being equal life will not appear fair to that individual.

choosing our thoughts

As hard is it is we can choose our own thoughts. We can do so by being intentional and deliberate about it. Importantly we must design our inclinations, attitudes, assumptions and standard ways of thinking about life, money and relationships. As we think, so we are and so we become.

Daily Affirmation: Today I design my life by choosing my thoughts.

Do We Have Free Will?

God loves us and believes in us and has done and will do anything he can to help us, but he will not impose on our free agency.  – Marion D. Hanks Ensign

free will creatures

No one person can know God’s will for the Universe or for other individuals. It appears that God wanted us to be creatures with the power to choose. That means she will not force herself on us. Which in turn means that we must ask to receive guidance and anything else that supports God’s larger vision for everyone. Our ability to choose (and keep God at a distance) also helps explain the planet’s sad state.

ask to receive

If we go about thinking we have the answers, that we know what’ll satisfy and soothe us then that’s exactly what will play out. Such an approach doesn’t work. We stay as directionless and as dissatisfied as ever. Isn’t that right? So what to do?

Let’s involve God into our daily life. Ask for help, consult God often, even moment by moment, continue to have faith in all that’s happening and show patience for God’s plan as it unfurls in our lives.

Daily Affirmation: Today I walk with God.

The Secret To Lasting Change

The heart of change: It is only when the totality of the human mind – mind being the nervous responses, the emotions, the everything that is you – completely responds, without any fragmentation in that response, that there is a new action taking place.  – Krishnamurti

sheer will power

Do we have the will to do it? How many times do we ask ourselves and others the same question? And how many times do we all fail, repeatedly? Why is it so hard to stick to something even when we want to?

our full attention instead

Deciding something at the mind level is not enough by itself. We must involve our emotional (mind) and spiritual faculties. This is the secret to lasting change. This explains why most of our New Year resolutions fail. For the mind to be involved there must be meaning attached to the goal. For our spiritual self to be incorporated the goal must align with long term purposes including higher desires such as self-actualization. Approaching any endeavor with our full attention and our complete being is the key all successful change!

How To Live Without Anxiety

4.19 He whose undertakings are free from anxious desire and fanciful thought, whose work is made pure in the fire of wisdom: he is called wise by those who see.

4.20 In whatever work he does such a man in truth has peace: he expects nothing, he relies on nothing, and ever has fullness of joy. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 4)

anxiety filled days

How much anxiety and stress do we tolerate daily? How much of the two are we even aware of? Once we’re aware of why we get depressed and sense the anxiety that engulfs our selves, we’re on our way… Our ‘fanciful’ thoughts about situations, about us and about others are the reason why we keep falling into the emotional thought maelstrom.

expectation is key

What do we expect from others? What do we expect from our day? What about our own selves? We make up ideas about what our life and our day should be like. Often these images get shattered because life doesn’t cooperate with our projected plans. The way to peace is to live in the moment, without any expectations of the future…

Daily Affirmation: Today I just AM, I expect nothing.
