On Thinking And Thoughts

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.  – Shakespeare

our interpretation

In my opinion Shakespeare is not talking about absolute goodness or evil here. His comment is about how we interpret life, how we react to events and what value or meaning we might attach to situations. We experience the fruit of our interpretation. For example if someone lives according to the assumption that ‘life is not fair’, all other things being equal life will not appear fair to that individual.

choosing our thoughts

As hard is it is we can choose our own thoughts. We can do so by being intentional and deliberate about it. Importantly we must design our inclinations, attitudes, assumptions and standard ways of thinking about life, money and relationships. As we think, so we are and so we become.

Daily Affirmation: Today I design my life by choosing my thoughts.
