Why We Must See Beyond

All things are sacred in the lives of those who are spirit led.  – The Urantia Papers

real goal

What’s our true goal in life? Is it to keep our current job, get the next promotion, maintain a certain lifestyle, stay healthy or what? Shouldn’t our goal be more transcendent than just that? If so, what should it be?

spirit

All life, everything we experience, was authored at the spirit level. If all man made things were first conceived as mere thoughts, then shouldn’t it follow that all of life was conceived by a creator? If so, then shouldn’t we attempt to understand the very fiber of this creation, wouldn’t we want to reach the very creator?

Why We Must Ask Instead Of Telling…

Are you asking me or telling me?Sheldon Cooper

ask first…

Asking people their opinion about a task, seeking their input and involving them in the decision making are the proven ways to solicit cooperation. Just telling them what to do, even if we have authority over them will never work in the longer run. And this approach applies to all people even children. How can we become more aware when we tell instead of asking?

life principles

25th Dale Carnegie Principle: Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.

Here’s a story from the book:

When Ian Macdonald of Johannesburg, South Africa, the general manager of a small manufacturing plant specializing in precision machine parts, had the opportunity to accept a very large order, he was convinced that he would not meet the promised delivery date. The work already scheduled in the shop and the short completion time needed for this order made it seem impossible for him to accept the order.
Instead of pushing his people to accelerate their work and rush the order through, he called everybody together, explained the situation to them, and told them how much it would mean to the company and to them if they could make it possible to produce the order on time. Then he started asking questions:
"Is there anything we can do to handle this order?"
"Can anyone think of different ways to process it through the shop that will make it possible to take the order?"
"Is there any way to adjust our hours or personnel assignments that would help?"
The employees came up with many ideas and insisted that he take the order. They approached it with a "We can do it" attitude, and the order was accepted, produced and delivered on time.

The Most Important Thing!

… it is only the feeling of vulnerability that ever puts you into a vibrational harmony with that which you fear. When you realize that by working to achieve your feeling of Well-being, it is then impossible for you to ever rendezvous with anything other than Well-being — that is the only place that freedom will ever be. Abraham

joy = freedom

We must rejoice! We must appreciate all that we have and are. By doing that we’re achieving the most important thing. Why is that?

vibration

When we move in joy we’re at a very high emotional/thought level. From that place we will have the best:

  • Relationships because we don’t demand anything from anyone else. And to stay joyous we must be selfless and helpful.
  • Health because a joyous person attracts the best health possible.
  • Life in general because nothing but goodness will come our way!

When unsavory events do cross our paths, we’ll be well prepared to deal with them. How’s that possible?

To be ever joyous we have be unafraid, we have to realize that we live in a very friendly universe and know that an intelligence far greater than us is looking after us!

Why Angels Surround Us!

To accept the guidance of a seraphim rarely means attaining a life of ease. In following this leading you are sure to encounter, and if you have the courage, to traverse, the rugged hills of moral choosing and spiritual progress.  – The Urantia Papers

meaningful life

I’m enjoying reading a very touching book by Mary C. Neal M.D. ‘To Heaven And Back’ these days. Mary shares numerous events from her life where the hand-of-God is very evident. She ‘dies’ during a kayaking accident in Chile and experiences first-hand what we all will probably experience sooner or later. God and his angelic helpers are constantly around us! They’re forever working to make life more meaningful to us. Their involvement in our lives becomes more focused when we invite God into our lives.

rejoice, pray and thank!

Soon after her accident Mary tries to read a Gideon Bible at the hospital. Her vision is very blurry though so she’s unable to read any words on the pages. As she thumbs through some of the pages she’s astonished to notice that the following 3 quotes stand out very clearly:

  • “Rejoice always.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16 (ESV)
  • “Pray without ceasing.” —1 Thessalonians 5:17 (ESV)
  • “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God’s in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

What great advice for all of us! Mary’s book is highly recommended if we’re looking to be comforted about God’s involvement in our daily lives!

Daily Affirmation: Today I acknowledge my angelic helpers, thank you!!

Why Life Is A Mystery…

When we’re in tune with the unknown, the known is peaceful.‘Yogi Tea’ Fortune

unknown

Given that we experience so little of the known light/audio spectrum it’s obvious that we know very little of this universe. It’s mostly unknown. That is what makes us fearful and it is also which makes life so interesting. If it were all known then truly life wouldn’t be worth living. Just like we couldn’t enjoy Christmas everyday, we couldn’t bear to live in a universe that’s all known.

in tune

So how do we become peaceful travellers through this most amazing and enthralling experience we call Life? I believe the best way to do so is to practice the following:

  •  Trust in faith that a great and loving intelligence is the creator and upholder of all that we see.
  •  Know that everything, ‘good’ or ‘bad’, is creatively used by God for everyone’s ultimate good and
  • Spend time connecting with this loving presence through various means.

Why There’s A Plank In Our Eyes!

How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:4

us first

It’s so easy to point the finger at someone else. Why is that? What makes us so blinded to our own foibles and short-comings? Why do we become so full of self that we can’t see the myriad ways we need to change?

life principles

24th Dale Carnegie Principle: Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.

Here’s a story from the book:

"Like many engineers, I have not been noted for my excellent English or spelling. For years I have kept a little black thumb – index book for words I had trouble spelling. When it became apparent that merely pointing out the errors was not going to cause my secretary to do more proofreading and dictionary work, I resolved to take another approach. When the next letter came to my attention that had errors in it, I sat down with the typist and said:
" ‘Somehow this word doesn’t look right. It’s one of the words I always have had trouble with. That’s the reason I started this spelling book of mine. [I opened the book to the appropriate page.] Yes, here it is. I’m very conscious of my spelling now because people do judge us by our letters and misspellings make us look less professional.
"I don’t know whether she copied my system or not, but since that conversation, her frequency of spelling errors has been significantly reduced."
