The Power To Just Be…

What is life if, full of care; We have no time to stand and stare?W.H. Davies

must figure it out

We lead a hypnotic existence most moments in the day. What does that mean? We’re lost in our thoughts, trying to figure everything out. What to buy, how to deal with certain individuals, what does s/he think of me, I’m over weight, I must do this or that….

just be

Notice your breath, know that you can rest and just life be. You can decide to be instead of do. Notice how that can be so relaxing, when you can flow with the river that life is and not care or worry. You owe it to yourself.

What’s Your Opinion?

Don’t seek reality, just put an end to opinions.Sheng-ts’an (Zen Monk)

what do you seek?

And how do you go about it?

stop separating

Notice how you think. You often examine one object, situation or person then compare it with something else. This constant comparison is a major cause of the constant chatter in our minds.

Recognize that, find peace.

The power of being still

It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking . . . in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet.Franz Kafka

Deep Being

Kafka is calling us to listen and to be, with full intention and attention. This deep level of being allows us to be one with all that is. In this foundational repose you’re fulfilled and want for nothing.

Deep Stillness

This deep stillness is a level of being that can be reached daily and with life changing impact. You awaken the love that might be dormant inside you. You awaken to the full possibility of life, joy, success and happiness. Life which is always abundant can now be claimed by you to do with it what the Universe pleases.

Get drawn by love…

Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love.Rumi

Listen First

As your internal (thought created) chatter dies down you can more easily connect with the under-current of Life itself. This can be best achieved via some form of meditation; and staying in the moment as much as is practical and possible.

Then Notice

Notice the thoughts that pop into your head through-out the day, especially when you practice stillness. All the higher thoughts, ones that are filled with love and creative ideas are the ones to focus on! Journal these thoughts, they then become a deeper part of you, which is the idea!

Thou art dust…

Remember that thou are dust, and unto dust thou shall return. An Ash Wednesday Liturgy

What are you?

Who are you really? Just your body? Your mind? Your soul? What is your soul? How can you find out? Lot’s of questions.

How do you find out?

Interested in answers? Then consult your deep, still self. If you mean business; the answers will come; they always do, try it.

Go within…

If you aren’t used to going within, you will need to be patient with yourself…Barbara De Angelis

Patience will be necessary because you will lack self-knowledge. In other words you won’t understand too well why you act the way you do in various situations. Your buttons will be easy to push, you will be in less control of your fulfillment and happiness. You will be more a re-actor rather than an actor on the stage of life.

When you go within, you enquire about the nature of your mind and your actions, which leads to clarity around your life goals. Going within can also yield you the peace and quiet that you seek. That citadel of comfort can only be found within.

Don’t neglect it.

Valuable thoughts…

The thoughts that come often unsought, and, as it were, drop into the mind, are commonly the most valuable of any we have.John Locke

There are indeed thoughts that just ‘drop’ into our minds. The valuable ones are of the kind that help us find direction, provide positive motivation, ask us to connect with someone, remind us of an important chore or illuminate that idea we were searching for!

Where do you think these thoughts come from?

I have my own theory; however the way to increase the prevalence of these thoughts, is to have a still mind through out the day. A still mind is possible when we witness all happenings and catch ourselves from being caught in the usual maelstrom that is our thoughts!
