Why Be Thoughtful?

Thoughtfulness is the beginning of great sanctity. If you learn this art of being thoughtful, you will become more and more Christ-like, for His heart was meek and always thought of others.  – Mother Teresa

thoughtfulness

Life is about others. It’s not about us. For increasing happiness and greater fulfillment we must devote a large portion of our personal and work time to others. It’s the key to all goodness.

Why We Need God…

"God is love"; therefore his only personal attitude towards the affairs of the universe is always a reaction of divine affection.  – The Urantia Papers

god

God is reality. It’s everything, everyone and the grand instigator himself. His very substance is love. When we experience and become love, we get closer to ultimate reality. Love is the essential currency and when we forget that, we lose our lock on the universal north star…

us

We are an individuation of reality. A localized and experiential reality. We are an irreplaceable node that shoots out from the center (God) to experience and collate reality itself. God is intertwined into our life. We’re finally playing the game when we decide to recognize this Truth and decide to partner with God!

How To Be Master Of Self!

Your awareness of yourself is greater than yourself.Guy Finley

self

Self is where we live, amidst our thoughts about us and alongside opinions of everyone and everything! We live in a maelstrom of ideas, fears, dreams and concepts. We muddle through life never entering the eye of the self-created storm.

awareness

Just becoming aware of self and our thoughts buys us a great vantage point. Suddenly we see our whole conscious self. That seeing allows us a perspective that’s not available otherwise.

Becoming self-aware is the first step towards self-mastery…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM observing self!

How To Be Still!

It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking . . . in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet.  – Franz Kafka

deep being

We’re being called to listen and to be, with full intention and attention. This deep level of being allows us to be one with all that is. In this foundational repose we’re fulfilled and want for nothing.

deep stillness

This deep stillness is a level of being that can be reached daily and with life changing impact. We stir the love that lies dormant inside us. We awaken to the full possibility of life, joy, success and happiness. Life, which is always abundant can now be claimed by us, to do with it what the Universe pleases.

How To Stay Awake!

We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aid, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn.Henry David Thoreau

slumbering

We slumber, and do so collectively. We have mechanical thoughts, robotic likes and dislikes, we’ve mostly made up our minds and are barely aware of the present moment. We move about in a hypnotic daze.

awake!

We must awaken. Awaken to the richness of the current moment. To the opportunities that show up if we only pay attention. To possibilities that lie dormant unless we open up to them. We must recognize that we’re sleeping before we can awaken!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM projecting my full attention into NOW!

How To Meditate…

Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet. It’s a way of entering into the quiet that’s already there—buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day.Neale Donald Walsch

definition

There are numerous definitions of meditation. One popular idea is that thoughts must cease for us to enter a meditative state. Certainly that could be classified as meditation; however meditation is also:

* Discovering and resting in the peace that resides within us

* Making direct contact with God

stillness

This peace that is nestled just under our stream of thoughts can be experienced. The trick is to be in a state of non-judgmental and relaxed awareness. That means we just sit and be. We become relaxed in body and mind. We stay alert, i.e. not fall asleep and maintain awareness of all that goes on inside us, without manufacturing new thoughts about any of it. Once we experience this peace it’s a great opportunity to:

* Pray and make direct contact with God

* Seek inspiration, which appears in the form of sudden thoughts and ideas

* Do creative thinking and planning

How To Understand Fear…

Fear lives inside us. We create it.  – NamasteNow!

fear

We all struggle with fear. Some of it is overt and quite palpable, we feel it. Then there’s the kind that just lurks and does even more damage. When we feel uneasy or nervous we ought to name the fear. We must start becoming aware that we’re fearful if we’re to diffuse that feeling of discomfort.

awareness

Fear resides inside us. It’s born of our thoughts, conscious and sub-conscious. We manufacture thoughts constantly and many of them construct the body of fear inside us. Once we become aware of this activity, the very act of awareness can begin to dissolve the fear especially if we also stop manufacturing new ones!
