What’s Your Opinion?

Don’t seek reality, just put an end to opinions.Sheng-ts’an (Zen Monk)

what do you seek?

And how do you go about it?

stop separating

Notice how you think. You often examine one object, situation or person then compare it with something else. This constant comparison is a major cause of the constant chatter in our minds.

Recognize that, find peace.

Truthful To The Core

Be gentle with yourself, learn to love yourself, to forgive yourself, for only as we have the right attitude toward ourselves can we have the right attitude toward others.Wilfred Peterson

with your own self first

This quote goes to the heart of truthfulness and consistency. If we watch ourselves, we’ll notice our various attitudes towards our own selves. Get to know yourself. And then notice when you’re being unkind to your self. You may do this when you don’t think you can achieve something; or when you think your body’s ugly. You judge thy own self constantly.

and then it follows

Which gives you license to judge others and be unkind to them in different ways. If you’re gentle with your self, consistency demands that you then be gentle with all others. That’s Truth in action.

Simplify!

Our life is frittered away by detail… Simplify, simplify, simplify! … Simplicity of life and elevation of purpose.Henry David Thoreau

focus on detail robs energy

Our life is mostly spent on trivia, a lot of detail and not much on the essence of being. Take our daily work life as an example. We’re mostly concerned with getting through the week and getting our job done. We don’t stop to observe and to ruminate. The less we draw energy from the well inside us; the more we give away energy to the distractions without.

fortify with simplicity instead

Thoreau asks us to focus on the core. Simplify first and then dwell on the purpose of things and of beings.

  • Make life simpler.
  • Live in the moment.
  • Have fewer things.
  • Have fewer things to do.

Rediscover life by searching for the meaning, the motive and the intelligence behind all that we see happening around us and within us.

Why Stay Positive?

The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.Unknown Author

the invisible

There’s an invisible world, one which we often ignore. That part of the Universe and its laws have a direct impact on our daily living. When we raise our vibrations by thinking good, thinking love and thinking positive, we partake of and create positive vibrations. These vibrations impact us, our future and those around us. Good health, great relationships, a happy present moment and a great future is the result!

it affects you first

When we feel resentment, fear, sorrow and experience worry we are generating and/or picking up vibrations of a whole different frequency. These lower frequencies impact us directly and first.

And that is the reason to not let these lower vibrations stick around youself for too long!

Why live with a neighbor that causes nothing but unhappiness? You think you are justified complaining about who did wrong to you and why. You might be justified but don’t feel sorry for yourself.

Break free instead, turn the tide, adopt vibrations of the positive kind!

We Yearn For The Peace

We yearn for a moment’s peace and quiet, only to turn on the radio, make a phone call, or run an errand as soon as an opportunity for solitude presents itself.Ronnie Polaneczky

why do we move constantly?

We fill our life with motion. Incessantly. Why?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ponder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think it’s because we’re running away from ourselves. We do need action in life, not constant action. At some level we’re afraid of facing our deep, apparently lonely, self. We feel more alive when we’re moving. Life is movement. When we’re still and without interaction; at a very deep level, we fear our mortality

breathe instead

Take pause; focus on your breathing. Slowly, find yourself calming down. Your mind will want to race, let it, don’t attach your attention to it or to its production, which are thoughts.

Once you start getting used to being still, at rest, a peace will start to descend, actually emerge from within you. Then you will know that you’ve never been alone.

It’s Family, Stupid!

The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.Thomas Jefferson

the meaning of life

A few days ago our family was at the neighborhood Holiday party when a discussion amongst guys turned to the ‘meaning of life’. That’s the kind of discussion I love to participate in so I jumped right in and said ‘The meaning of life is simple’! Everyone stared at me incredulously, their facial expressions read ‘ok tell us wise guy, let’s see you make a fool of yourself’. I said that Life’s meaning and purpose can all be encapsulated in ‘It’s all about family’.

what else is there?

It is all about family. You need someone to share your life with. Joys, sorrows, purpose and fears. Family includes our good friends and neighbors. Our achievements in life are meaningless without deep relationships. If you strip everything out; or when we die, all we’re left with are the sweet memories of loving relationships.

Who are you?

Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.Mike Robbins

be yourself

You come with an essence that’s you, uniquely so, in all time and in all space.

Mull over that.

everyone else is taken

Waste not your time and precious attention on how you compare with others; what others think of you or what you must do to please them. Instead focus on what makes you beautiful, helpful to others and an attractive person from the inside out.

You must get to know yourself first; that comes when you become increasingly more self aware; which is a product of stillness.
