We’ll be lost if we ever think we know enough, about anything. The Universe and the Creator are infinite, time itself goes on forever, so if we’re to have any kind of a meaningful eternal existence, there better not be an ultimate truth that’s easy to reach and comprehend. Your thoughts?

Yes there’s certainly not one answer, to most questions. Questions there are many, that can be asked. In fact depending on the questions asked, the Universe responds. The question we ask determines what we see. The Universe and our existence is designed for continuous growth, discovery and adventure! Life is good, and it’s exciting!! Dream on….

Now, the present moment is all there is. This doesn’t mean that we live in the current moment forever, it just means that whenever we aren’t planning for the future or reminiscing about pleasant past memories, we ought to notice what goes on … in the present moment.

deepen the experience

There are at least two ways to deepen the experience of the ‘Now’ moment.

Through meditation or better still via Stillness. There can be a difference between the two. Stillness is just being still and observing whatever’s going on. It’s the essence of Zen Buddhism.
Through a mechanism that reminds us to focus our full attention on what goes on around us and even inside us. Are we irritated because we have a headache or are tired? Attention on the breath, are we breathing deeply or in a shallow way? What are we seeing? The depth of the blue in the sky, the shape of one particular cloud or the direction in which the clouds are sailing. The aromas wafting by or the sound of a child nearby. Using all our senses, we live fully, in the holiness and beauty of the present moment.

Under what circumstances do we pray? And why? Depending on your religious/spiritual belief system you might agree with me that we’re eventually safe. Nothing can harm us from an eternal point of view. Given that, what should we pray for? What can we pray for?

Wow, what beauty and simplicity! That’s all we can really ask for, true understanding about what’s going on, a larger view point which puts everything into perspective, and more patience as time and events rollout reality itself.

Continuing the Star Wars theme! Impatient we are, just about everything in our lives. Isn’t that true? I want my iPhone, I want that toy, I want you to …, I want that …, right now!! This is a tendency we all struggle with.

There is indeed a time for everything. In fact this reminds me of another quote:

Read this one at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC if I remember correctly. The quote speaks for itself. Enjoy slowing down, breathing easy, and deep, inhale life, notice things just as they are, enjoy life.

My son and I finished watching the 6 movies that make up the dual Star Wars trilogies this week! The son and the father now talk just like Master Yoda in the movie! The Jedi Masters in Star Wars are the self-less crusaders who uphold the true values of a Universe, underpinned by the good side of ‘The Force’. We are all like the Jedi.

You are a born artist. How you might ask? In two ways I will retort.

Because you are unique and your take on life has no duplication, anywhere.
An artist looks at the world, sees meaning, often deep meaning and expresses that meaning in ways that are true, beautiful and good. You can do that daily in whatever you create. You can do it when you express yourself while communicating, in cooking, any writing that you do, via any self-expression for that matter. If that self-expression is pleasing to you and to others then you are an artist.

Do you buy this quote? That what we truly seek (peace and happiness) is simply the result of high living and purity of thought?

living it

Pure thinking is thinking that’s selfless, not self-focused. It’s broad thinking, it cares for the well-being of the largest group possible. It is also about self-honesty and growth via increasing self-knowledge.

While pure thinking is more about being, pure living is all about doing. Doing that, which comes from thinking of the highest kind.
