Why Pursue Meaning?

If you want happiness for an hour – take a nap. If you want happiness for a day – go fishing. If you want happiness for a year – inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime – help someone else.  – Chinese Proverb

a meaningful life

A meaningful life will always translate into true happiness and joy. Any pursuit that doesn’t support a deeper meaning and drive will result in an empty life. We’ve all experienced both these extremes. It behooves us to consider pursuing desires that are deeply meaningful.

In the end, the way to lead a joyful life is not to pursue happiness for ourselves, but to pursue it for others. The good life is not about getting what we want; it’s about having what it takes to give to others.
