The above quote is attributed to him as his last words. We’re exhorted to never take anyone else’s word for anything. We must experiment with truth ourselves…

How Sharpening a Pencil Can Lead To Life Success…

The secret to success is to do the common duty uncommonly well.John D. Rockefeller

the commonplace

The ‘commonplace’ is the easiest perceptual trap we can fall into. The ‘routine’ is a deception of monstrous proportions. Our daily ‘chores’ are a ruse that lull us into passivity.

the secret

Most secrets for a happy life are quite straightforward and not like brain surgery. This one has to do with not looking at ‘common duty’ as commonplace. Instead look at it as uncommon and rare. When we excel at something commonplace like sharpening a pencil, we pay more attention to the current moment and feel good while doing it. Subsequently such attention to detail translates to greater life success!

This One Secret Does Wonders!

Many of the moments ahead will be marvelously disguised as ordinary days…  – Douglas Pagels

ordinary?

Life is ordinary if we deem it as such. In the daily routine our life becomes just that, another routine. We wake up and head to work or do our usual thing very hypnotically. We tend to anticipate better times ahead therein losing the magic of the moment!

the secret

The secret is to pretend that each moment is a gift. It is. We should stop taking each moment for granted. Using each moment to the fullest may mean pursuing our dreams, going for a hike or just watching a movie with family. Let’s imbue each precious moment with the importance it does have. Let’s fully inhabit each moment, this moment, now…

The One Question We Must Ask!

Do you ask enough questions? Or do you settle for what you know?Questions

curiosity

The universe thrives on questions and curiosity. If we don’t ask the Universe doesn’t tell. Or is it that we don’t observe the answer (which is ever-present) until we’re in the perspective of asking the right question?

settling

Sometimes it’s ok to settle for what we know. But we must do so with full awareness and in faith that whatever’s going on is just what the Universe ordered! Life is always a fine balance between this and that…
