What’s The Easiest Way Out?

The fastest way to get to a new-and-improved situation is to make peace with your current situation.  – Abraham

escape

Most of us want to escape some aspect of our current lives. Some of us want more money. Some want the next best job. Many desire a much better relationship experience. Everyone wants to feel more secure and happy.

make peace with what is

We cannot escape that which we must face now. If we attempt to do that, no matter where we go or what we do we’ll feel the same level of insecurity. We must make full peace with what’s going on. Why do we need more money, why isn’t what we have enough? Why do we need that next job, what are we trying to get away from? And what do we really seek in our relationships, what’s missing in the current situation? Until we can face it now and be at peace with it, we’ll continue feeling unsettled.

Why We Must Be Present To Life…

Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.John Lennon

life happens

Life is happening to us right now. We’re all getting older; some relationships are blossoming while others are withering; everything around us is changing. Where are we during all all this?

where are we?

We are generally absent. We’re lost in our thoughts. We’re focused on self. The roses die before we smell them. People move on before we can say goodbye. When will we be present to the eternal now?

Why We Should Say ‘Yes’ To Life!

When you say "yes" to the "isness" of life, when you accept this moment as it is, you can feel a sense of spaciousness within you that is deeply peaceful.Eckhart Tolle

this moment

This moment is, it just is. Accept it. Breathe deeply and let go. Now, feel that acceptance settling in…

When we do so experientially, we begin to feel the calmness and peace that pervades all that is. And this despite the movement of life and time itself.

life

When we accept this moment and reside fully therein, we’re ready to accept all that Life brings to us. It doesn’t mean we appreciate everything that’s happening to us. It just means that we accept it, can feel the ‘nowness’ and can act from this settled frame of mind. And then we do the same thing in the next moment, and the next…

Why Routine Can Be Bad!

One should always be a little improbable.Oscar Wilde

routine

Routine is good when it allows us to set and achieve daily goals. It can ensure that we be healthy and happy. But routine can be counter-productive.

hypnotized

We generally move around hypnotized, lost in our thoughts and do our regular chores without being completely awake. And therein lies the rub. Because we’re not awake and present to the moment, we miss out on life. The way to fully participate and be a little unpredictable as a result, is to be keenly alive and in the moment!

How To Cultivate The Zen Mind!

In the beginners mind there are many possibilities, but in the experts there are few.  – Shunryu Suzuki

the beginner’s mind

Such a mind is childlike. One that sees things anew, doesn’t discount anything, has few regrets and worries not about the future. It lives squarely in each moment.

possibilities

Unencumbered such a mind is free to be creative and truly resourceful. This mind seeks possibilities, expresses emotions, resents not and exudes joy. What kind of mind do we have? Or does our mind have us?

How We Can Be Happy Now…

…that you can be happy right here, not tomorrow, not in ten minutes, but now. You can be happy right now.  – Byron Katie

now

We can choose to be happy now. It’s a choice we make, it’s the way we think and it’s the way we view our world. What will we choose right now?

happy no matter what?

How can we be happy if the world is crashing around us? How can we be happy if we’ve just lost a dear one? One way to effect that is to activate the faith we all have. We can have faith that God is in charge. We can believe that life is eternal. We can express gratitude for everything that is working in our lives.

The Essential Secret To Health & Happiness!

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.  – Buddha

fear and worry

Our biggest enemy is fear. It drives a lot of our behavior. We regret the past and apply too much emotional energy thinking about it. We should only allow pleasant reminiscing. And we should try not to dwell on what may go wrong.

namaste now!

The finest way to live is to inhabit the current moment and do so filled with love. That is this blog’s core message. Live intensely in the present moment, fearlessly, full of love, expecting goodness and while being of real value to others. If there ever was a formula for life this is it…
