What’s So Cool About NOW?

13.22 … He watches, gives blessing, bears all, feels all. He is called the Lord Supreme and the Supreme Soul.

13.23 He who knows in truth this Spirit and knows nature with its changing conditions, wherever this man may be he is no more whirled round by fate. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 13)

here and now

Why are we instructed to stay in the moment when possible? Because in this moment eternity meets time and space. In this very moment God and divinity are present. At this time spirit and wisdom becomes accessible. Peace and joy are at hand.

Ok, so why can’t we feel and know all this good stuff??

attention

Pure attention is required. We must look at and experience things as they are. When done with pure attention, no thoughts about the thing or experience are generated inside our head. When that happens, the eternal moment and all its goodness starts to become apparent. Practice makes perfect. It’s a muscle that slowly grows and yields amazing results! Try it!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM fully attentive.

What Is True Wisdom?

13.2 Know that I am the knower in all the fields of my creation; and that the wisdom which sees the field and the knower of the field is true wisdom. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 13)

wisdom?

What is wisdom?

  • Is it an ability to understand things as they are?
  • Does it help in understanding origins and destinies?
  • Does it aid in living happily?

true wisdom

According to the supreme God personality speaking via The Gita true wisdom is when we realize that God is the ‘field’, the creation and that she’s the knower of her creation as well. God is the knower and that which is knowable.

God creates us to experience totality, to experience what she is, to enjoy being limited and thus finds a way to escape her infinity…We are her children in this eternal adventure, we have nowhere to go but to her, we are safe now and forever!

Daily Affirmation: Today I see what is.

What’s The Best Meditation?

12.12 For concentration is better than mere practice, and meditation is better than concentration; but higher than meditation is surrender in love of the fruit of one’s actions, for on surrender follows peace. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 12)

meditation

There are a myriad different techniques that fall under the umbrella of meditation, here are some that I share on NamasteNow. In general meditation techniques range from concentration to chanting to reflection and so on. Any practice that softens us, helps us become more open minded, become more tolerant, forgiving, grateful and loving is good!

surrender in love…

According to this holy book of the Hindus, surrendering all action to God and in love is the way to peace and happiness. When we’re at peace, we can more easily enjoy the inspiration and love that rain down on us from all directions. Only when our desires and the constant mind chatter peter down can we hope to tap into this ever-present Universal resource…. Lets practice!

Daily Affirmation: Today I lovingly surrender!

The Solution For Everything…

11.54 Only by love can men see me, and know me, and come unto me.

11.55 He who works for me, who loves me, whose End Supreme I am, free from attachment to all things, and with love for all creation, he in truth comes unto me. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 11)

love is the answer

The very essence of God, the very fabric of reality is based in love. Whenever we don’t know the way forward, regarding any aspect of life, love, it seems, is the answer…

working for god

The two verses above are the very essence of The Gita. To approach life with love, to devote our very existence and all effort to God, the ultimate Reality, is the way to a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM devoted to God.

The Infinite God Of All…

11.13 And Arjuna saw in that radiance the whole universe in its variety…

11.38 Thou God from the beginning… Treasure supreme of this vast universe. Thou the One to be known and the Knower, the final resting place. Thou infinite Presence in whom all things are.

11.40 … God of all. All-powerful God of immeasurable might. Thou art the consummation of all: thou art all. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 11)

vision

Arjuna at this point has a grand mystical vision of God and the entire universe. He experiences God in his vastness and infinity. He’s divinely awestruck and falls to his knees worshipping the God of All.

god

This chapter includes a mind-boggling description of the one God of all. The spirit inside us rejoices and can be more easily recognized when in meditation or while reading we contemplate God’s greatness and ever-presence. The world is our cocoon, we have nothing to fear, life is an adventure that never ends, and all is well!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM humbled.

I AM Because I AM…

10.39 … I am the seed of all things that are; and that no being that moves or moves not can ever be without me.

10.42 Know that with one single fraction of my Being I pervade and support the Universe, and know that I AM.The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 10)

no place to go

No place to go where God isn’t; no thought to think without the I AM experiencing it, nothing to do without God. We live in the very substance of God. Truly have we nothing to worry about, we come from God, we live and have our being in him and we’re headed towards an increasing realization of All That Is…

i am

I AM is the original postulate. God just is. He lives and inhabits the present moment, completely, and he encompasses all time and space. We can identify with him and know his nature, if we but choose to do so. He waits patiently, all-the-while surrounding us with unconditional love…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM one with I AM.

The Beginning, End and Middle…

10.20 I am the soul, prince victorious, which dwells in the heart of all things. I am the beginning, the middle, and the end of all that lives. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 10)

in the heart

It has been stated, boldly and explicitly, in most religious texts.

God resides within.

It’s the greatest truth ever that was revealed to man by God and made evident to him, in his own heart. ‘Despair not’, God says, ‘all is well, I’m in your heart, I hear you, I care for you, you’re not alone, rejoice! And remember, I reside in every other heart, so take good care of your brethren, my children.’

all that is

There is nothing but the divine. In our circumscribed internal world, our models of the world, we might dream up that which is not wholesome and make it externally real. But we’re contained in divinity, surrounded by the holy and we march to the drum of the eternal…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM.
