Begins Here

We are the ones we have been waiting for.Hopi Prophecy

we are it

When Gandhi said ‘we must be the change we want to see in the world’ he was right of course. It’s either us or no one else. We have to be the change we so desperately want in the world.

let’s do it

  • If we want peace we must be peaceful first.
  • If we want less greed, we must first be satisfied.
  • If we want more love, we must excel in loving others and in having satisfying relationships.
  • If we want less frustration and greater fulfillment in life, we must search for the answers.

Life won’t just happen to us. We must stir and make things happen.

Daily Affirmation: Today I move, I act.

The Art Of Seeing

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.Jonathan Swift

vision

What’s your vision

  • For yourself?
  • For your family?
  • For your country?
  • For the world?

Covey says that we ought to start with the ‘end in mind’. If we start with a vision, there’s a greater likelihood that we can get there.

art of seeing

Only we can provide our unique interpretation to life, only we can see as we do. But it doesn’t work if we’re lost in our thoughts, or if we’re always in our mind and not truly conscious of what’s going on in the present moment.

Become present, then start noticing. You’ll be amazed at how much more is seen. Listening too is like seeing. Deep listening requires conscious effort and yields clues that otherwise go unnoticed.

Daily Affirmation: Today I see and I hear.

Be & Do!

I tell our runners to divide the race into thirds. Run the first part with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart.Mike Fanelli

the BeDo continuum

All of life follows what I call the The BeDo Continuum! Here’s a schematic from my article:

 clip_image002

What I should say is that all of life, that’s being lived in a fulfilling way is likely following The BeDo Continuum! The being aspects often come first. They come from reflection and inspiration.

human ‘beings’

Whenever you catch yourself. ‘Catch yourself’? What does that mean? I mean whenever you become reflective and aware of your own being and thinking, become further aware of whether you’re in a doing mode or a being mode. We mostly operate in the doing mode, so ‘catch yourself’, step back, examine what you’re doing and to what end. Start the virtuous BeDo Continuum! Remember we’re human ‘beings’ not human doings!

Daily Affirmation: Today I be first then do.

John Wooden

Nothing will work unless you do.John Wooden

the legend

John Wooden the legendary coach and motivator, died last week, at almost 100 years of age! Read more about him here in this letter by his friend Steve Jamison. If you’re searching for a solid role model, John could be him!

be effective

The quote doesn’t talk just about the ‘work’ that we do daily. It’s referring to you as an entity and as an end product. The ‘you’ that goes through life interacting with others and with events. So ‘you’ as a complete package must be effective in all that you do and in all that you be. Such levels of effectiveness are possible when we first become aware of our own selves, at all levels. Increasing awareness and then necessary action or adaptation are the keys!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM the complete package.

Your Base

He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away.Raymond Hull

what others think

  • How much do you care about what others think?
  • What’s important about that?
  • What value do you derive to self, based on what other’s think of you?
  • Are you about revealing others to yourself or you to yourself?

find your base

What is it that anchors you in life? Is it a cup of coffee, your morning prayers, a beautiful scene, a lovely poem or soothing music? It’s important that you recognize what works for you. Once you know what works, it behooves you to sprinkle such experiences throughout your day. Then it becomes a habit. You’ll be able to find your anchor and lower it, daily. You’ve now found your base, just strengthen it moving forward.

Daily Affirmation: Today I practice finding and nestling in my base.

Define Yourself…

Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.  – Harvey Fierstein

‘life is pointless’

When I first read this statement in the book Bringers of the Light by Neale Donald Walsch, I was taken aback. How can life be pointless? What Neale means is that it’s up to us to give life meaning, to define our role, to decide to do what we want to do and to decide to be all that we want to be! I like that!

create a vision

Create a vision for yourself. Your life and this universe is the canvas you can paint on, go ahead, go crazy, don’t hold back! Grab this eternal opportunity, all time is precious!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM my author.

Your Original Medicine

No one else has the same configuration of life experience and perspective that you hold. This is your “original medicine,” nowhere else duplicated.Gail Larsen

your ticket

Your ticket to life’s goodness, bounty, happiness and fulfillment is your own uniqueness. Your essence, your individuality, is your ‘original medicine’ according to Gail Larsen.

original medicine

This term comes from a Native Indian tradition of North America. You need to find and claim your ‘original medicine’ if you want to enjoy life. According to the Urantia Papers there are up to 7 trillion inhabited planets in a small portion of the Universe that we inhabit. If that were true, imagine the sheer number of individuals in the Universe! Well, you are unique amongst them all!

Affirmation: Today I AM thankful for my uniqueness. I focus on what only I can offer to the world.
