Where’s Our Attention?

Everyone is responsible for the thoughts they think and the things that they choose as their objects of attention.  – Abraham

our attention

It matters where we put our attention. Can we be masters and guide our minds appropriately? It really is up to us.

creation

We are creators. Our creation comes from our attention, our thoughts and consequently our actions. Let’s be bold and create something beautiful in our lives. What’s stopping us?

Who’s Calling The Shots?

Compel your lower nature to obey your higher nature...  – The Urantia Papers

hi or lo?

The lower nature is that which frets, worries, fears, feels less than, is jealous, always wants more and never satiated.

The higher nature is that which loves, is kind, serves, is confident, has faith, is peaceful, thoughtful, deliberate, motivated, and has a higher purpose.

who’s the boss?

We are and can be victims of genetics and generational, racial and national thought patterns. It can be tough to fight these built-in inertial forces. Because we are will creatures, it’s our prerogative and should be our life-goal to grow and design our life. Which is why we have a mind that’s really under our control. If such is not the case then how can we assert control? Who’s the boss?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM the boss!

What Are We Afraid Of?

We yearn for a moment’s peace and quiet, only to turn on the radio, make a phone call, or run an errand as soon as an opportunity for solitude presents itself.  – Ronnie Polaneczky

afraid to die?

We fill our life with motion. Incessantly. Why?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ponder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think it’s because we’re running away from ourselves. We do need action in life, just not constant action. At some level we’re afraid of facing our deep, apparently lonely, self. We feel more alive when we’re moving. Life is movement. When we’re still and without interaction; at a very deep level, we fear our mortality

pause

Let’s pause; focus on our breathing. Slowly, find self calming down. Our mind will want to race, let it, don’t attach any attention to it or to its production, which are thoughts.

Once we start getting used to being still, at rest, a peace will start to descend, actually emerge from within. Then we will know that we’ve never been alone.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM pausing…

How To Be Happy Today!

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.Fredrich Koenig

happy thanksgiving 2013!

It’s Thanksgiving time in the United States on Thursday November 28th. Such a great reminder for us all to be supremely grateful for all that’s lovely in our lives! We are thankful God for life as we’re living it, help us be of value to others…

happiness journal

It’s been proven that gratitude leads to happiness. In this one study Dr. Robert Emmons showed “that individuals that wrote down what they were grateful for on a weekly basis were 25% happier, more optimistic about the future, felt better about their lives, and exercised 1.5 hours more per week than those who didn’t record their gratitude.

Another study at Hofstra found that “among teens, gratitude resulted in higher grades, more life satisfaction, better social integration and less envy and depression.

Being grateful results in:

  1. * Being healthier
  2. * Better relationships with everyone around us
  3. * More satisfaction at work

It’s a total Win-Win-Win situation every way we look at it!!

Chances are that right now we’re lost in our thoughts. This is a pattern we repeat all day long. What’s the result?

How To Be In Love…

There is great love here for you.  – Abraham

now

Right now and here, we are loved, just the way we are, no matter what, by the great Creator. This love can be experienced by us, at will.

loving

Once we accept that we’re worthy of receiving God’s love then we may experience it. To experience it we simply love and serve others. We have to feel that love, make it real and then shower it on others through service. We become vessels of this divine gift as we move through life. Divinity then guides our path…
