The secret to success is to do the common duty uncommonly well. – John D. Rockefeller
the commonplace
The ‘commonplace’ is the easiest perceptual trap we can fall into. The ‘routine’ is a deception of monstrous proportions. Our daily ‘chores’ are a ruse that lull us into passivity.
the secret
Most secrets for a happy life are quite straightforward and not like brain surgery. This one has to do with not looking at ‘common duty’ as commonplace. Instead look at it as uncommon and rare. When we excel at something commonplace like sharpening a pencil, we pay more attention to the current moment and feel good while doing it. Subsequently such attention to detail translates to greater life success!
Daily Affirmation: Today I AM paying attention to routine matters!
