Why Draw Closer To God?

… the fruits of the divine spirit which are yielded in the lives of spirit-born and God-knowing mortals are: loving service, unselfish devotion, courageous loyalty, sincere fairness, enlightened honesty, undying hope, confiding trust, merciful ministry, unfailing goodness, forgiving tolerance, and enduring peace.  – Jesus, The Urantia Papers

pleasing God

Some believers of God think that we have to go through major hoops to convince God to love us and to save us. God doesn’t need to be placated, he doesn’t need to be appeased, he already loves us. He created us to be eternal beings and this is so because we are his children. We are saved, we are safe. The only question is how do we know God and claim the peace that we deserve while still living?

fruits of spirit

We know God by simply accepting that he exists and by allowing him to participate in our lives. Once we give God permission to work with us then life begins to change. We slowly become more sure of his existence and his peace starts to hold firm in our hearts. We then tend to become lovingly service oriented, bolder, sincere, more honest and tolerant of our brothers and sisters…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM God’s child and therefore safe…

Why Here And Why Now?

No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.

John Greenleaf Whittier

Thinking is a faculty we bring to bear in our lives. We initiate it, we guide it and we execute it. Because we do so much thinking it has become automatic. We’ve lost control of our own thinking, it now controls us. So the question is do we assert control over our own mind or do we behave as though it’s not up to us?? Will we seize the good and the positive around us or will we succumb to fear and negativity?

now and here

Right here and at this very moment life is focalized in and around us. Blood courses through our veins and arteries, air eases in and out of our lungs, our brain is active in more ways than one and we are alive!! The whole planet teams with life as it also sings to the tunes of the infinite. If we enjoy this beautiful melody that is life itself, playing all around and inside us, we’ll know that we’re an integral part of this great enterprise. We’ll also realize that here and now is where we must be, this is where life itself intersects with Time and Space…

Why Are We Not Loved?

What does it mean to you to allow another person to fully love you?

our deepest need

We often feel that we aren’t loved. We feel lonely and neglected. We don’t feel important. Why is life so tough we think. Why me?

Our deepest need is to receive selfless and unblemished love. We want to be nurtured and treasured. Where can we find such love?

opening to love

Sorry, more questions…

What part to do we play in all this? Why do we close self to others’ care? Where do we feel inadequate and undeserving? Where do we sense a guilt inside us? Do we push others and even God away? When will we stop this self-sabotage? How can we receive love? How can we open self to God?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM a receiver of bountiful love…

What is Meditation??

Meditation is the life of the soul: Action, the soul of meditation...  – Francis Quarles

meditation?

What is it? How do we do it? Why is it important?

zen

The quote above is actually a great definition of ‘Zen’. Meditation is when we draw closer to our soul, our inner self, the divinity that we carry around with us… We may approach reality through various means like contemplation, mantras, stillness, prayer, art, nature and Life itself. When we move about alert and present we move in consort with reality. Meditation then spills into action. Each moment is a holy one…

Subject: Death is Not the End

…death is only the beginning of an endless career of adventure, an everlasting life of anticipation, an eternal voyage of discovery.  – The Urantia Papers

death?

This morning (Tuesday, May 1st) my wife and I had the privilege to attend the funeral of our dear friends’ mom/mom-in-law. It was a somber event with hearty sprinkles of love and hope. Their ‘Mummy’ is a lovely soul who transferred a lot of joy to every life she touched. She has now taken residence beyond our plane of existence… We’ll miss her…

‘Subject: Death is Not the End’

We heard later that in the afternoon my friend had received an unexpected email from a publisher with the subject ‘Death is Not the End’!! That was a message from the other side, very heartening!! Thank you God!

There’s no end to our lives. It’s just a transition from one level of vibration to the next. There’s real meaning to our lives. Our lives continue, our relationships continue and the party goes on forever!! Let’s rejoice!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM joyous because I live forever…

What Is Faith?

Infinite patience produces immediate results.  – A Course in Miracles (ACIM)

what?

We want things now. We want people to just understand us. We want everything taken care of ASAP. We are inherently impatient. We worry about our future and think that we must figure it all out. We lack faith.

faith

To have faith is to be patient. To trust in God is to have patience. When we can let go, when we breathe more deeply, when we believe then we’re practicing ‘infinite patience’. As soon as we adopt this posture, we can rest, we’re at peace. We can more easily access our intuition when we’re peaceful, trusting and patient. Let’s develop this muscle daily!

Where’s The True North?

A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two watches is never quite sure.Lee Segall

the north?

How do we decide what’s right or wrong? On what basis do we make daily decisions? What makes us choose one fork on the road over another? What guides some of our momentous life decisions? How can we be more decisive? How can we think more clearly?

the north

We must discover a way, a mechanism, a philosophy or a means to help us think better. Guidelines might come from our ‘religion’, our society and family. Prayer, stillness and journaling are excellent ways to gain a deeper knowledge of self. Truly understanding what drives us, i.e. our values, is yet another way. It’s crucial that we understand what’s most important to us and why…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM aligned with my true north!
