Why We Must Be Still…

We yearn for a moment’s peace and quiet, only to turn on the radio, make a phone call, or run an errand as soon as an opportunity for solitude presents itself.Ronnie Polaneczky

constant movement

We fill our life with motion. Incessantly. Why?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ponder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We’re running away from self. We do need action in life, just not constant action. At some level we’re afraid of facing our apparently lonely self. We feel more alive when we’re moving. Life is movement. When we’re still and without interaction we fear our mortality

breathe instead

Let’s take pause and focus on our breathing. Slowly we’ll find ourselves calming down. The mind will want to race, let it, don’t attach attention to it or to its production, which are thoughts.

Once we start getting used to being still, at rest, a peace will start to descend, actually emerge from within. Then we will know that we’ve never been alone.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM still and know I AM not alone…

What Should We Do Next?

The fool wonders, the wise man asks.Benjamin Disraeli

ask & observe

We often ask ourselves; what should I do next? That’s a great step forward, we must ask first. What then? Often we keep asking and nothing seems to happen? What’s going on? Nothing seems to happen because we may be looking for a particular answer… We need to be free of any expectations, and once we’re free, we must observe!

Look for signs from the Universe. They come to us in an infinite variety of ways, through people, situations, inanimate objects etc… Observation is key!

now act…

Once we observe something that appears to be a sign lets take the action that’s called for. If we do; more signs will appear, they always do. We’re now actively on our journey of self and Universe discovery!!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM asking and acting!

How To Build A Better World Starting Today…

You want a better, more fraternal, more just world? Well then, start building it: Who is stopping you? Build it inside yourself and around you, build it with those who want it. Build it small, and it will grow.  – Lanza del Vasto

we must be the change

Let’s look in the mirror first. How can we change? How can I change? The change must be sweeping, where we deal kindly with our children, colleagues, everyone… How else can it be systemic within us?

extreme kindness

I like to call it the ELK Principle, Extreme Loving and Kindness towards anyone we touch daily. Start with kind thoughts for self. Design each thought to be loving and lovely. Try to see the innocence and magnificence in every human. Mentally utter a Namaste to them. Very hard to do consistently but worth practicing daily.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM kind to self and others!

How To Move Beyond Negativity…

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.Proverb

negativity

The problem with complaining and negativity is simple. It forces us to spend time at the level of the problem, at a lower frequency and often leaves us feeling sorry for our selves. Let’s seek the light instead, heck let’s create some!

discover you

How can we create light in any given situation? Lets become aware of what we’re thinking about the situation. If our analysis is turning negative, we should note how the thinking is affecting us in the moment. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t analyze and critique when necessary. Lets ensure that the thought spiral isn’t taking us down with it. Instead we can bring ‘light’ to the situation or person by reminding ourselves that thoughts matter. We control the vibrations we dwell in… Let’s step back and view (shine a light) from a ‘higher’ vantage point.

Daily Affirmation: Today I bring light to each person and situation.

Jesus demonstrated that God is real and ever present in our hearts. He showed that the path to God is direct, just like a child’s to his parent. We’re never alone.

Why We Must Let The Past Be…

The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.Leslie P. Hartley

the past

The only true consciousness of time that we have is of the present moment. Just like the previous moment, the past doesn’t exist, it’s gone. When the future arrives, which it does every moment, it is our present. For creativity to flourish we must be worry-free and operate in the Eternal Now.
