Nothing Unreal Exists

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
A Course In Miracles

real vs. unreal

What is real? Anything of value to the Universe or to the Creator is real. Anything of value exists because it ought to. We, in our essence, at our core, are real.

peace of God

Once we realize that nothing about us or anyone else is truly threatened, we can rest easy. We can be at peace when we know we’re safe. We are safe and secure, forever.

Daily Affirmation: Today I rejoice because I’m safe!

Why God’s Will?

6.2… and no man can be a Yogi who surrenders not his earthly will. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 6)

who’s a yogi?

The word Yoga can be literally translated from the original Sanskrit to mean ‘unite’ or ‘union’. Union with ultimate reality is the goal of any practitioner (yogi) of yoga! The Bhagavad Gita makes it plenty clear that ultimate reality is God as a person.

my will

Our ‘earthly will’ is just that, very circumscribed, selfish and short-term oriented. We cannot know how our selfish actions will impact the greater good of creation. Therefore it becomes spiritually important that we fine tune our will to be inspired by God’s. Without doubt God’s Will always proceeds from love, understanding, truth, beauty and goodness. We cannot go wrong if we access the divine will and execute on it. That is actually the ultimate adventure!

Daily Affirmation: Today I seek God’s will for me.

‘Getting Naked’ and the Law of Attraction II

Set a goal so big that if you achieved it, it would blow
your mind.
The Secret

disappointed

I was disappointed at first because I was hoping I’d get a copy of his new book, Getting Naked. However I quickly recovered and was very thankful for getting this book, I knew I needed it! The session concluded and I was fortunate to also have been invited to a smaller group to discuss topics with Patrick Lencioni later in the day! I’ll be sharing more about the book Getting Naked itself in another blog….

perfection

The group turned out to be just about 6-8 folks! Imagine that, getting time to spend with a famous author and executive coach in such a private setting! I met Pat and chatted for a little bit and got my book autographed by him! At the conclusion of this event two things happened that reminded me of the law of attraction and were triggers for me to write these 2 blogs! The organizer came by and started handing out books to everyone present. She had only one copy of Getting Naked, I got it, and it was already autographed! Not just that; I got to chat with Pat once more and asked him questions regarding my corporate coaching engagement, where his name had first come up! He gave me some excellent tips which pretty much designed for me the approach I was going to take with my corporate client. In my mind the Universe/God had given me everything I had needed. I hadn’t sweat about any of this. I had essentially held in my mind what I thought I needed and had kept doing what was necessary while being grateful for the present. I also implicitly held the belief that God takes care of it all, not me. That’s it, that’s The Secret in action. Btw this is one small example of how this universal principle works in my life and in yours!

Daily Affirmation: Today I set big meaningful goals for myself.

what

Several weeks ago I was with a corporate client (I do life and executive coaching) and we ended up talking about Patrick Lencioni’s ‘The Five Dysfunctions of a Team’. I knew of the book and some of the concepts inside it but hadn’t read the book. I made a mental note to myself that I needed to read the book and research the material. Each week after that I reminded myself that I still needed to do that! Basically I was focusing on the ‘what’ I needed and not the ‘how’. I hadn’t quite figured out a strategy yet as to how I would get the book. Some books I borrow from our library, others I just buy for my Kindle.

event

A couple months ago I had signed up for a speaker event at work, it was actually Patrick Lencioni coming to talk about his new book Getting Naked! I showed up and because Patrick wanted the session to be interactive he offered a free book to the first 3 people who asked a relevant question! The whole session was fantastic so it was easy for me to stand up and ask the first question. After that exchange Patrick literally threw a book at me, lo and behold it was a copy of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team! There’s more to this story so please stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog!

Daily Affirmation: Today I focus on the ‘what’.

Why Light a Candle?

Better to light a candle than curse the darkness.Proverb

negativity

The problem with complaining and negativity is simple. It forces us to spend time at the level of the problem, at a lower frequency and often leaves us feeling sorry for our selves. Let’s seek the light instead, heck let’s create some!

create light

How can we create light in any given situation? Lets become aware of what we’re thinking about the situation. If our analysis is turning negative, we should note how the thinking is affecting us in the moment. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t analyze and critique when necessary. Lets ensure that the thought spiral isn’t taking us down with it. Instead we can bring ‘light’ to the situation or person by reminding ourselves that thoughts matter. We control the vibrations we dwell in… Let’s step back and view (shine a light) from a ‘higher’ vantage point.

Daily Affirmation: Today I bring light to each person and situation.
