How To Defeat Fear!

Fear is a terrible emotion, which you need not suffer from. Learn to see a situation as it is, not as you are.  – Vernon Howard

fear

Most of us are worriers. If worrying was good for us, we could make a living from it! We regret certain past decisions and we worry about our future, the two together make for a fine recipe for fear…

understand it

How can we overcome fear? Here are some steps we may consider:

  1. Notice when fear strikes. What caused it?
  2. Recognize that fear (which is a reaction) occurs within us.
  3. We created that fear inside us…, we control it’s lifespan
  4. Assert control

It’s really up to us, we can control the creations of our mind because it’s our mind! Enjoy understanding and experimenting…

How We Make Choices…

You make your choices by your attention to things.  – Abraham

choices…

We often wonder how and why certain things show up in our lives. How can we be empowered so that we design our lives rather than appear to be helpless victims to it?

every moment

The Universe is like a finely tuned, elaborate and sophisticated reflective system that seeks input from creative beings. It’s unbiased and faithfully reproduces the vibrations that it constantly perceives. The Universe pays attentions whenever we pay attention to anything. Let’s really watch the things, the people and the emotions that we dwell on, because that’s how we make choices each moment. Consequently more of the same will be manifested in our lives!

When Will We Change?

How short would your life have to be before you would start living differently, today?  – Thought Provoking Questions

when?

We all want to change many things about us and our lives! Why don’t we? What’s holding us back? What are we afraid of? Can’t we see what’ll happen if we keep going this way?

new perspectives

How can the following perspectives guide our actions today?

Perspective A: I have only 12 months to live, what now?

Perspective B: I am an eternal child of God, I’m protected and loved.

And what if we lived the two perspectives simultaneously?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM fearless!

How To Handle Change…

Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.  – Karen Kaiser Clark

change…

‘Change is inevitable’ was the topic of a thought-provoking motivational program I viewed last night. What does this mean? How does change impact our personal and work lives? How should we approach change or in other words how should we approach Life itself?

acceptance

When we accept truth, we invite peace. There may not be peace at first but acceptance leads to a resting place from where clarity of mind emerges. With a clear mind we can assess the situation and take next steps as necessary. Once we accept the truth that ‘change is inevitable’ then we better understand that our current circumstances won’t last. When we expect change we can be less fearful. When we welcome change growth becomes possible.

Where’s The True North?

A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two watches is never quite sure.Lee Segall

the north?

How do we decide what’s right or wrong? On what basis do we make daily decisions? What makes us choose one fork on the road over another? What guides some of our momentous life decisions? How can we be more decisive? How can we think more clearly?

the north

We must discover a way, a mechanism, a philosophy or a means to help us think better. Guidelines might come from our ‘religion’, our society and family. Prayer, stillness and journaling are excellent ways to gain a deeper knowledge of self. Truly understanding what drives us, i.e. our values, is yet another way. It’s crucial that we understand what’s most important to us and why…

Why Slow And Steady Wins…

I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.  – Abraham Lincoln

take it easy

We are all in a daily rush to get nowhere…

reflection

When we…

  • Take it easy
  • Breathe more deeply
  • Reflect more than we do things
  • Ponder instead of running to places

Then we get to the heart of life, we truly live in the moment and all our experiences become more meaningful. Let’s slow down…

Are We Doomed To Our ‘Default Future’?

Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life. So tell it the way you want it to be.Abraham

Off blogging till April, 23rd, see you back here!

which story?

What story are we expressing daily? What do we tell self and others? Consciously or without full awareness? Here are some examples:

  • I’m getting old…
  • I get easily tired…
  • Life is tough…
  • Life is full of sorrow…
  • I don’t care…
  • No one loves me…

What story (across multiple dimensions) are we repeating all day long?

let’s rewrite

Recently a friend brought up the concept of a ‘default future’. That’s the future we guarantee ourselves if we don’t change our current thinking and actions…

Let’s rewrite our life stories. Let’s rewire our thinking to design a better ‘default future’:

  • I feel good…
  • Life is such a blessing…
  • God is good…
  • I love it all…
  • All is well…
  • I’m thankful for everything…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM rewriting my ‘default future’!
