We’re led by spirit if we exhibit the “fruits of spirit” i.e. if we attempt to be loving, patient, kind and serving.
We are kids of god in action when we try and be like him. That’s religion.

John wrote this in the 17th century probably referring to the church bells that tolled during a funeral. We can make a lot of this beautiful quote. Let’s not lose another moment to indecision, hate, callousness or despair. We never know when the bells might toll for us. Let’s wake up, realize the power that resides inside us, claim it, smile and march into the day, we can take it on like a true child of the universe. Nothing holds us back, except us.
The meaning we find in life is our own work; it involves our unique interpretation of what’s going on. When anything happens it’s up to us what we make of it. Watch self as we create our inner universe, be aware of how we paint an event or happenstance. We create our life, each moment. When the bells toll; we decide what that means to us.

A story from Vernon…
A teacher and his disciples were crossing a field when they passed an archer who was shooting at a target. When an arrow struck the target in the center the archer praised himself aloud. But when the next arrow missed the target completely the archer angrily blamed a gust of wind.
‘Ah,’ sighed the teacher as the group went on its way. ‘That is so typical of man. When something goes right it is due to his great skill, but a wrong result is always the fault of someone else.’
In one way or another we tend to blame others for what goes wrong in our lives. We are host to many contradictions in how we conduct our lives. Clear thinking and the integration of our mind, body and soul have to be life goals for us. If so, then we must actively remove such contradictions from our lives.

God is reality. She is love. And she is joy. Truly God must be all these things. And a lot more.
If God is all these things then surely he wants us to be the same way? When we hear ‘God’s will be done’ what it really means is that we ought to live as he’d like us to. If we’re not living a joyous life then we’re not doing God’s will on earth. If we’re not doing his will then God is incomplete.

It’s hard to fathom why we exist and God’s part in everything. Apparently love plays a huge part. Also it seems that God’s very essence and his motivation is love. What does this mean for us mere mortals?
We’re not merely mortals. We’re God’s children. Our spiritual essence is of God. Our very underpinning therefore is love. If we were to focus on love, on being love and practicing love then we’re probably on the right path!

Building on yesterday’s post. Stillness pays the highest dividends in presence of God. God already knows our thoughts intimately so being present in stillness is suggested.
Being still and waiting expectantly is the secret technique to connect with God! As we practice this we’ll become even more still and a peaceful joy will overcome us. Inspiring thoughts that are filled with love and service for others will also emerge. When all this happens we can be sure that we’ve connected with God!

Forget what society tells us, forget what we’ve been raised to believe, instead listen to what Spirit urges us to do…
Spiritual realities underscore our total existence. Our existence is like the visible spectrum of light. It’s such a tiny portion of the total light spectrum, which is like the Spirit world. Amazing things and much greater pursuits are in store for us once we’re done with this short but intense life experience on our planet.
Deep inside us but also in the periphery of our thoughts sits the Spirit. It’s constantly looking to impress upon us greater realities. It tries and sometimes succeeds. When we experience ‘peace beyond all understanding’ then we’re following the leading of the Spirit. Spirit always leads us towards service and love for one and all!
