The Pursuit…

Hear from the heart wordless mysteries! Understand what cannot be understood! In man’s stone-dark heart there burns a fire That burns all veils to their root and foundation. When the veils are burned away, the heart will understand completely… Ancient Love will unfold ever-fresh forms In the heart of the Spirit, in the core of the heart.Rumi

the core

That’s where it is, in the heart. The center of love, the center of being, where all is grasped, where all is resolved and where endless mysteries unfold…

from the heart

For true success lets become beings of the heart. Let’s operate from love, understanding, tenderness, care, patience, mercy and kindness. That is the ladder to what really matters, it’s the path which we must eventually follow. Let’s do so now…

Showing Up!

Wherever you go, go with all your heart.Kung-fu-tse (Confucius)

where are we?

Do we at this moment show up completely? Are all our faculties and attention focused on the current moment, the current project and possibly the person we’re engaging with? Why not?

mind, heart & soul

Showing up means to be fully present in mind, via the heart and at the soul level. When we do that we’re tuned into the full possibilities in that moment as well as each unique moment that continues to unfurl.

Daily Affirmation: Today I show up.

Stillness & Harmony

2.65 …for when the heart has found quietness, wisdom has also found peace.

2.66 There is no wisdom for a man without harmony, and without harmony there is no contemplation. Without contemplation there cannot be peace, and without peace can there be joy? The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2)

stillness

In the stillness that resides deep inside us can be discovered a peace, even a wisdom that is profoundly therapeutic. The search for this well of quietness is one goal worth pursuing, according to God in The Gita.

harmony –> peace –> joy

What brings harmony into our life? Once the mind enjoys harmony, deeper thinking becomes possible, the mind is now under our greater control. Once thoughts are more directed, the inherent peace seeks an outlet. Joy emerges from that peace.

Daily Affirmation: Today I discover joy by controlling my mind.

Emotional Hurt

Happy is the man who has broken the chains which hurt the mind and has given up worrying once and for all.  – Ovid

what hurts you?

We carry a lot of emotional baggage. People and circumstances have hurt us. Actually they’ve not hurt us, we’ve allowed hurt to occur. Self-knowledge is key to uncovering such issues.

awareness & acceptance

Two ways out of it are awareness and forgiveness. Awareness of what actually happened and our part in the allowing the hurt. Forgiveness can be understood as acceptance. We accept how a certain person is, they are what they are, we let them be, we accept them for what they are and move on.

Daily Affirmation: Today I understand how I allow myself to hurt.

Gita: The Joy Within

2.55 When a man surrenders all desires that come to the heart and by the grace of God finds the joy of God, then his soul has indeed found peace. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2)

let it be

If there’s one mantra that works most of the time it is ‘Let it be’. The directive above allows us to find peace. Desires may not be bad, however they do keep us from discovering peace, now.

the joy of God

When we surrender desires; the desire to do something, be something or acquire something, our thoughts can begin to settle down. Our minds slowly become still. God and his joy can be experienced when that stillness is discovered. Try it, just 5 minutes morn & eve, you won’t be disappointed…

Daily Affirmation: Today I let be.

Gita: Rest In The Divine

2.53 When thy mind, that may be wavering in the contradictions of many scriptures, shall rest unshaken in divine contemplation, then the goal of Yoga is thine.

2.54 How is the man of tranquil wisdom, who abides in divine contemplation? What are his words? What is his silence? What is his work? The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2)

divine contemplation

Krishna, God, has something very important to say to religionists in this verse. He understands that all scriptures are imperfect and such  imperfection confuses all thinking believers. Here he suggests that we not rely solely on written guidance. That we become our own gurus.

how?
