‘Getting Naked’ and the Law of Attraction I

The Hows are the domain of the universe. It always knows the quickest, fastest, most harmonious way between you and your dream. The Secret

what

Several weeks ago I was with a corporate client (I do life and executive coaching) and we ended up talking about Patrick Lencioni’s ‘The Five Dysfunctions of a Team’. I knew of the book and some of the concepts inside it but hadn’t read the book. I made a mental note to myself that I needed to read the book and research the material. Each week after that I reminded myself that I still needed to do that! Basically I was focusing on the ‘what’ I needed and not the ‘how’. I hadn’t quite figured out a strategy yet as to how I would get the book. Some books I borrow from our library, others I just buy for my Kindle.

event

A couple months ago I had signed up for a speaker event at work, it was actually Patrick Lencioni coming to talk about his new book Getting Naked! I showed up and because Patrick wanted the session to be interactive he offered a free book to the first 3 people who asked a relevant question! The whole session was fantastic so it was easy for me to stand up and ask the first question. After that exchange Patrick literally threw a book at me, lo and behold it was a copy of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team! There’s more to this story so please stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog!

Daily Affirmation: Today I focus on the ‘what’.

Peace Beyond Understanding!

The peace of Jesus is, then, the peace and assurance of a son who fully believes that his career for time and eternity is safely and wholly in the care and keeping of an all-wise, all-loving, and all-powerful spirit Father. The Urantia Papers

the real secret

The real secret to life is to attain ‘the peace that passeth all understanding’. Such a peace cannot be found by chasing our desires. It cannot be found through meditation alone. It certainly cannot be found in other earthly pursuits. But such a peace is possible amidst all that we do undertake, all that we do experience, and in all that we are. It’s a state of mind.

peace at last

As humans what we really seek is true safety, love and peace. If we’re at peace, all is well in our life. It means we’re happy with our circumstances, our relationships, and we’re not clamoring and suffering for anything. Such a peaceful state is within our grasp. It comes not from achieving such a state first but from having faith in a benevolent creator (or order) first. We must believe that such a force has full control over its creation and that there’s an intelligence and wisdom that proceeds from it that cossets us in love and understanding. We’re ultimately safe, nothing or no one can harm us and we are loved more than we can know. Believe and rejoice!!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM safe, I AM loved and I AM peaceful.

In Partnership With God

4.24 Who in all his work sees God, he in truth goes unto God: God is his worship, God is his offering…

4.39 He who has faith has wisdom…and he who finds wisdom, soon finds the peace supreme..The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 4)

it’s all god

The stuff that the universe is made of, comes from God. We come from God. When we keep that in mind, we can have God as our constant companion. It’s making this approach a habit that makes it very powerful.

faith leads to peace

When we consciously accept that God moves with us, we are guided, we are safe, we can now leave all outcomes to providence and we can slowly learn to let go… This faith helps us gain a certain peace, and that’s a goal we all seek.

Daily Affirmation: Today I see God in everything.

What’s ‘The Physics Of The Quest’?

See God in every person, place, and thing, and all will be well in your world.Louise Hay

where the teacher is

Had an interesting experience this afternoon. I was witnessing the graduation of a 12 week Dale Carnegie offering at work, and had the pleasure of hearing from the dynamic facilitator of the class. She ended up sharing her own touching story about how she found the truth about the following quote from the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’….

In the end, I’ve come to believe in something I call "The Physics of the Quest." A force in nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity. The rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: If you’re brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.

where god is

We’re always looking for ‘the’ answer to our quests, our problems and our yearnings. Well the message and the messengers abound! If we only look the answer comes through unexpected ways and means. It’s right around the corner, or is the next person we meet or even the next connection we make in our minds! Let’s look, the answer might be right in front of our figurative noses!

The Best Prayer

I never ask God to give me anything; I only ask him to put me where things are.  – Mexican Proverb

the best prayer?

Just today I was chatting with a friend about what a prayer ought to contain. We both agreed that we should be asking for wisdom and understanding. We also agreed that we shouldn’t be asking for help getting out of problematic situations. Who knows for what purpose we live through life’s experiences? Unless of course the situation is very tough, in which case we thought that God would know our plight even before we asked… and then we might ask for greater strength in the present moment.

the best prayer…

Love today’s quote. God already knows us and our circumstances intimately, better than we do actually Smile! So what should we ask for? Nothing more or less than for:

  • Greater wisdom
  • A long term view
  • The ability to recognize growth opportunities
  • Understanding our place and purpose in the Universe
  • Courage and strength to face life and to be selfless

Daily Affirmation: Today I pray for wisdom and understanding, so help me God!

God Is Here Now!

4.8 For the salvation of those who are good, for the destruction of evil in men, for the fulfillment of the kingdom of righteousness, I come to this world in the ages that pass. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 4)

through the ages

Contrary to popular belief God never stopped paying attention to us. He and his messengers have been coming to earth to keep the message alive. The message is simple actually and at the same time very powerful.

god is

God created it all. He is ever present in us. His presence in us makes him ever accessible. He’s our forefather. For that reason everyone around us is our sibling. His pre-eminence and his universal family makes up this simple and life changing Truth.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM God’s child.
