Why We Must Trust!

Trust creates peace.‘Yogi Tea’ Fortune

what’s missing?

Something is definitely missing in our lives. What is it? We search for it incessantly and we don’t quite find it. We look for it in relationships, in cars and gadgets, at work and in our hobbies but that ‘something’ stays mostly elusive! What is it? What is it that’ll help us be at peace and fulfilled?

trust!

An ultimate answer will never be forthcoming! Why? Because life, God’s creation, is endless and eternal, just like God. We can continually progress as we move along; we’re never ‘there’ though. But there is something we can attain while on the journey. And that’s a certain peace. How can we start feeling this peace? Via trust and faith. We must trust, that as children of the ‘most high’ we are safe, all is well and that all will be well. Such peace is accentuated via stillness.

How To Increase Self-Respect…

Spiritual living mightily increases true self-respect. But self-respect is not self-admiration. Self-respect is always co-ordinate with the love and service of one’s fellows.Jesus, Urantia Papers

self-respect

This is a big topic everywhere we look. Why? Because a lot of our regular failings or shortcomings can be tied to a temporary or permanent lack of self-respect. We don’t trust our own value, we don’t think we amount to much, we know we’re not great and believe we’re not good enough. How to fix this?

spiritual service

Spiritual living comes from at least a few of the following conclusions:

  • That we were created.
  • Therefore we matter.
  • And that everyone else matters too.

That’s the theoretical part. Spiritual living becomes practical when…

  • We serve others every chance we get.
  • We think of the larger good in all our undertakings.
  • When we think selflessly.

Spiritual living builds a healthy self-respect which leads to emotional stability which equals happiness! Who will we serve today?

What Creates Diamonds?

What is to give light must endure burning.Viktor Frankl

light

We were born to be ‘lights’ to others around us. We already are. How? When we highlight the amazing strengths and creativity that we already possess and use them for others’ benefit. How can we transform our selves to burn even brighter?

challenges

Notice the challenges and travails that kids go through. They might be overwhelmed and feel as though their world was ending! But adults often know better … that a broader perspective might be applicable to their situation. We also know that the experience might be a teaching moment for them. No brain surgery here, the same logic applies to our own suffering and challenges. Let’s apply a higher perspective when we can!

Daily Affirmation: Today I see from a higher perspective!

Why We Must Jump In…

Only the spoon knows what is stirring in the pot.Sicilian Proverb

step in

The reality of the pudding can only be found in tasting it. The best way to live a conscious spiritual life (the reason for this blog) is by stepping into the river that flows eternally…

what’s stirring?

Big changes are astir. When we pay attention we’ll notice that the current stream of events are changing our planet forever. We can be bystanders or we can be active participants. Because everything springs from a spiritual underpinning, we must apply ourselves spiritually. Let’s strive to understand:

  • What is it that’s gnawing at us?
  • What are we upset about?
  • What do we need?
  • What will satisfy us?

The answers and the direction will then be forthcoming!

Is God Real?

Being can be felt in the silence of the soul. The Bhagavad Gita

conclusion

It’s been a pleasure going through each chapter of The Gita ruminating on any verse that stood out. You may find all related posts here. Here’s what I conclude from this soul exercise:

God is present in our heart. He’s a partner in our daily strivings and accomplishments. Life is lived to the fullest when we accept his presence in faith and act accordingly while serving others lovingly.

the proof is in the pudding

God cannot be proved to anyone else. But his presence is very palpable. His presence is cultivated via Stillness, prayer and loving service. The proof is really in the pudding, let’s taste some of it!

Why We’re At Home!

God is our Father, the earth our mother, and the universe our birthplace. The Urantia Papers

fear

What’s the core problem we face? I believe it has do with fear. We’re fearful of life and what might happen to us. Ponder that…

How much of our life do we build on this essential belief system? What would happen if we were fearless and at peace? What would it take to be that way?

a decision

In some ways what ‘is’ depends on what we decide it must be. What ‘is’ depends on what we expect from life. What would happen if we accept the following as true?

  1. God is my parent
  2. I’m loved beyond measure
  3. I want for nothing
  4. All is well
  5. All will be well

What Is The Spirit Of Work?

18.46 A man attains perfection when his work is worship of God, from whom all things come and who is in all. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 18)

perfect work

Perfect work is that which benefits others and provides peace of mind to self. Such work is possible when we are ‘devoted’ to it. Such work becomes ‘heavenly’ work when done with the right ‘spirit’! What is this spirit of work?

spirit of work

According to The Gita God is intimately involved in all our activities. It then behooves us to involve God into our daily activities. This is a sure way to perfection and peace. How does one do it though? Here are some examples:

  • As we do anything we do it as though God asked us to do it…
  • We interact with others as though we’re dealing with God…
  • We submit all work deliverables as an offering to God…
