Truthful To The Core

Be gentle with yourself, learn to love yourself, to forgive yourself, for only as we have the right attitude toward ourselves can we have the right attitude toward others.Wilfred Peterson

with your own self first

This quote goes to the heart of truthfulness and consistency. If we watch ourselves, we’ll notice our various attitudes towards our own selves. Get to know yourself. And then notice when you’re being unkind to your self. You may do this when you don’t think you can achieve something; or when you think your body’s ugly. You judge thy own self constantly.

and then it follows

Which gives you license to judge others and be unkind to them in different ways. If you’re gentle with your self, consistency demands that you then be gentle with all others. That’s Truth in action.

Simplify!

Our life is frittered away by detail… Simplify, simplify, simplify! … Simplicity of life and elevation of purpose.Henry David Thoreau

focus on detail robs energy

Our life is mostly spent on trivia, a lot of detail and not much on the essence of being. Take our daily work life as an example. We’re mostly concerned with getting through the week and getting our job done. We don’t stop to observe and to ruminate. The less we draw energy from the well inside us; the more we give away energy to the distractions without.

fortify with simplicity instead

Thoreau asks us to focus on the core. Simplify first and then dwell on the purpose of things and of beings.

  • Make life simpler.
  • Live in the moment.
  • Have fewer things.
  • Have fewer things to do.

Rediscover life by searching for the meaning, the motive and the intelligence behind all that we see happening around us and within us.

Who are you?

Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.Mike Robbins

be yourself

You come with an essence that’s you, uniquely so, in all time and in all space.

Mull over that.

everyone else is taken

Waste not your time and precious attention on how you compare with others; what others think of you or what you must do to please them. Instead focus on what makes you beautiful, helpful to others and an attractive person from the inside out.

You must get to know yourself first; that comes when you become increasingly more self aware; which is a product of stillness.

What Did You Receive Today?

What did you do today to receive your instruction?Louis Pasteur

what to receive?

You can receive many things in the course of a day. You can receive:

  • Attention/love from others
  • Negativity from others and from circumstances
  • Ideas and opinions, clues as well

To know what to pay attention to you must be following your compass. Your compass leads you to that which fulfills you, your Life Purpose. You then know what to pay attention to, all day long.

what’s your life purpose?

  • What’s the aim for the life that you live?
  • Why do you get out of bed everyday?
  • What do you want to fulfill?
  • What do you want to create?
  • Who are you?
  • Whence did you come from?
  • Where are you headed?

The Peace Pilgrim…

The body, mind and emotions are instruments which can be used by either the self-centered nature or the God-centered nature. The Peace Pilgrim

a role model

In my very early years of enquiry into the spiritual life Mildred Lisette Norman Ryder was a major influence. She’s more popularly known as The Peace Pilgrim. Her story is an amazing one. Her life was the message, a message of finding inner peace and spreading it via contact. She walked, literally hiked, all over the United States for 28 years of her life, walking the talk instead of just talking about it! You may download or order a printed copy of her inspiring book here.

her message

Her central message is that we must be genuinely peaceful first and then that peace can be a beacon for others.

This is the way of peace: Overcome evil with good, falsehood with truth, and hatred with love. The Peace Pilgrim

She speaks about 4 Preparations, 4 Purifications and 4 Relinquishments in order to achieve a peace beyond understanding one that is invincible!

Ask For The Highest

Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door of salvation will be opened. The Urantia Papers

what to ask for?

It’s a law of the Universe. We must ask before it can be given. We must look around and knock at doors before the way opens for us.

What should we be asking for?

ask for the highest

And everything of lesser importance and as it relates to your eternal life will be given automatically. Everything in the Universe is spiritually focused. All that we do on this planet has value only if it’s of a spiritual nature especially in our relationships with others. So seeking the highest gives us the rest.

Thank you God!

When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I am alive.Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Beauty Around Us

The beauty and opportunity around us and ahead of us is boundless. We’re blessed in ways we don’t (can’t?) imagine! Life is good and progressively moves in the direction of working out for the very best for one and all.

Rejoice!

Being Thankful

And be thankful. When we express gratitude we connect directly with the very source of all that is! When we’re thankful we complete the circle of God’s beneficence towards her creation. God gives and exults in that providence, we accept the bounty and express our personal satisfaction in this the grandest of all adventures! Thank you God!
