Our level of happiness is the truest measure of success. Are we happy with us? Are we happy with others? Are we happy at our jobs? These questions are applicable to businesses too. Is the company we work at a happy place? Is the CEO and management happy? Even the profit motive that underscores all of Capitalism is meant to create happiness, eventually. Happiness is the end goal!! Right?

If we’re focused on self we won’t be very happy. Why, because we’ll be narrow-minded and not consider others in our happiness equation. The Universe is focused on everyone and everything. It seeks the highest good for everyone. To gain God’s cooperation in our lives, we must be focused on a cause that’s greater than self. A profit-centered business will be greater if it pursues a larger societal goal as well. This principle applies at both the micro and macro levels…
