Why Be Quiet?

The quieter you become the more you can hear. Ram Dass

it’s all good

True silence can do wonders. True silence is that of the mind not that of the audible kind. As we become more still, we can observer better, we listen more intently, we perceive a lot more and our sense of intuition flowers! Inspiration and creativity is heightened when we let our mind settle down naturally.

How do you do that?

Watch yourself. Watch as thoughts arise, notice their origin, and where they lead you. Observe how you act or react to any incident. Get to know yourself intimately, in this fashion. Your effortless watching of self leads to a quiet alertness that connects you to the essence of all that is. A peace beyond understanding, a joy inexpressible, then emerges!

affirmations

Today I AM still. I AM peaceful. I AM connected. I AM joy.

What’s Our Purpose?

Learn to get in touch with silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

it’s all good

Do we ever get the feeling that everything’s got to have a purpose, that we have got to have a purpose, otherwise all that we do is for naught? Well that’s exactly how it is. There’s a purpose and a season for everything and everyone.

Questions:

  • What is our purpose in life?
  • What have events in our life prepared us to do, today?
  • Or what are they preparing us to do eventually?

Answers to these questions and real direction can be had if we but “learn to get in touch with silence within yourself”. Are we going to try that?

affirmations

Today I AM still and feeling good. I AM confident that all’s well. I can feel God’s blessings in my life. And am ready to embrace each new moment!

How We Self Sabotage!

It is hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head. Sally Kempton

saboteur

We have an internal saboteur, a gremlin, who keeps rearing its ugly head, several times a day, sometimes all day. Once we can recognize that naysayer inside us, the very act of becoming aware of it, diminishes its power over us. With practice we can let our real self, our strong, powerful, positive self, emerge. The fear subsides and the path becomes clearer by the day. The first step must be to recognize this negative voice inside us…

affirmations

Today I AM kicking my internal saboteur in its butt! I will banish all negative thoughts! I AM a child of God, I AM positive inside and out. I think lovely thoughts and do lovely deeds. I AM proud of myself and my potential!

Who’s Betraying Us?

Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.Shakespeare

traitorous thoughts

Once we get used to watching where our thoughts spring from, next steps can be:

  • 1) Becoming aware of how we get enmeshed in each thought process. When we’re involved in them we’re not being conscious of that activity. When we become aware then that act in itself, helps us distance ourselves from the thought. We notice that we are having these thoughts, we are not the thoughts. This distinction is crucial for our peace of mind.
  • 2) Next notice the quality of these thoughts. Are they the spirit enhancing kind or the opposite? Ferret out thoughts of fear and of doubts. Consciously bring up pleasing thoughts instead or just watch them disappear if we don’t get involved in them and just become aware of them instead.

Both activities above are enhanced by meditation, just 5 minutes twice a day helps! Check out some exercises here. Won’t we do that for self? Lets banish our doubts, be less fearful and forge ahead!!

affirmations

Today I catch my traitorous thoughts and gently expunge them. I AM a child of God and only think lovely thoughts. My beautiful thoughts lead me to an amazing and fulfilling life. I practice love and think of others more than I think of self.

Why We Must Allow…

Something wiser than you is trying to get through to you.  – Vernon Howard

allow

Inside us resides a spark from the infinite. This light represents the holiest of the holies and ever wants to lead us towards Truth, Beauty and Goodness. This entitlement wants us to flow in love and be directed to do that which is for the highest good of all. We must allow God to function through us. He can’t if we’re always lost in selfish thoughts…

affirmations

Today I affirm God’s presence inside me. I AM conscious that I AM a child of God! I allow God to work through me by stilling my mind. And by having selfless thoughts. Today I focus on being love. I allow love to flow through me.

Is God Around?

I will speak to you if you listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways.  – Neale Donald Walsch

in all ways

The creator, the universal creative essence, indwells us. That presence is always available. We may not know it because we may not have paid attention. When we get that flash of inspiration or that kind thought for someone else, that’s God talking. If we practice listening we’ll be amazed at how integrated God is into our lives! He has always been present, and in ‘all ways’ has he made his presence felt, if we but listen and pay attention. A technique developed by Carl Jung called Active Imagination can help us connect! And of course stillness helps!

affirmations

I AM God’s child. My Father is always present. My Mother gently guides me. I AM in a universal playground where everyone’s ultimately safe. I enjoy the daily adventure and worry not about where I go. The past is done and has no negative hold on me. I flourish in the Now and AM thankful for all I manifest.
