What’s Forgiveness?

Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past.  – Lily Tomlin

the past

We’re all married to the past in some fashion or another. Because of this tie to the past we consciously or otherwise are unable to forgive others or self. This is the root of most unhappiness.

let go

Love this quote because it encapsulates the main learning when it comes to the topic of forgiveness. The past is irreversible. At some point we have to consciously recognize each fixation we have about past incidents and let go. We can then be at peace!

Why We Must Ask…

And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.  – Luke 11:9-10

living universe

We live in a dynamic, living and orderly universe that’s driven by love. God is present and will engage more fully with us when we ask.

ask

Ask we must. We are growing and learning in this nursery world of souls. The Universe will respond to each request and the answers and gifts provided will be what works best of us and the rest of the world. There are no mistakes made and it all ends well, without fail. Have no fear.

Why We Rock!

You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever. You have nothing to fear.  – Eben Alexander

dr. eben alexander

Dr. Eben Alexander had an almost deadly case of sudden bacterial meningitis and fell into a coma. He was in the coma for a whole week. During this time his neocortex was totally in-operational. Without this essential part of the brain in working condition there’s no scientific explanation for his vivid and life transforming near-death experience (NDE). Not only was he able to describe in detail his whole experience he recovered completely from the debilitating disease. The doctors had given him almost zero chance of survival and were certain that he would be a vegetable for life if he did survive.

bottom-line

During his near-death experience (NDE) he experienced one-ness with God and was convinced that we are children of a God who infuses all creation. Dr. Alexander was adopted as a child and meets an angelic person during his NDE who he later recognizes as his birth sister who he had never met in real life! This account is an almost perfect case that non-believing scientists may study if they have an open enough mind. Btw Dr. Alexander was himself a non-believer until this incident.

Where’s The Answer?

The next message you need is right where you are.  – Ram Dass

where?

It’s a deep desire within all humans to know the future and to remove uncertainty from our lives. We always want to know: Where and what next?

here

What we seek is never out there. The answer is always within, right where we are. And that’s because we carry with us, wherever we go, a fragment of God, the very creator, the true reality, within us. We’re blessed and ‘All is Well’, always and forever…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM right here.

What Are Life’s Real Attainments?

Reason, wisdom, and faith are man’s highest human attainments.  – The Urantia Papers, (103:9.6)

life achievements

These attainments have nothing to do with career, business or fame, at least directly; instead they involve those aspects of life that we will carry with us even beyond this life!

life quotient

These 3 areas cover the major aspects of life:

  • Reason: Is about developing our mind and intellect. Reason guides us regarding the things of this world. A well developed intellect is essential for any kind of worldly achievement. Reason is about IQ.
  • Wisdom: Wisdom is all about finding truth, dealing with others and relationships. And thus is a crucial quality to have, it’s about Emotional Quotient or EQ!
  • Faith: Opens the door to everything else that’s essential to our lives. It’s the path to a life of religion; knowing God or Universal Mind, it leads to the very source of everything. Faith is eventually about LQ, Love Quotient, because the real fruit of ‘true religion’ is the blossoming of a pure love, from within and for the benefit of others.

What’s Wrong With Our Thoughts?

Consider how much more you suffer from your anger and grief than from the very things for which you are angry and grieved.  – Marcus Aurelius

suffer

We worry and grieve about a lot of things, even on a daily basis. Actually we’re experts at it! Why do we suffer so much?

thoughts

Our incessant thoughts and our inability to step away from their manufacturing process is the big culprit here. Let’s mull over that…

Who Is Wise?

He who knows others is learned; he who knows himself is wise.Lao-tzu

self first

Knowledge is key, it’s often said. To be effective in our relationships with others it does make sense that we know self better, first…

how?

What does it mean to know self? It can mean several things and at several levels:

  1. Know our hidden motives and agendas. Are we conscious of why we do what we do?
  2. Know what keeps us going; Know our deepest values; what’s most important to us. What makes us happy/sad?
  3. Know how others perceive us and how we impact their lives.
  4. Know our place in this universe.

It’s not a small undertaking; which is why we have an entire life to explore the universe that’s inside us and is us! Bon Voyage!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM starting my inner journey!
