How To Live Fully…

If you realize that you have enough,
you are truly rich.
If you stay in the center
and embrace death with your whole heart,
you will endure forever.

Lao-tse

What’s Memorial Day?

…ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.JFK

the 1st memorial day

“That the Gullah people performed a march and parade in a circle was no accident: movement in a circle – the Ring Shout – was the most sacred rite brought by the enslaved to North America. In a mixture of African and American custom, the Gullah put to rest the Union soldiers, who in part, lost their lives to ensure the freedom of those who later marched for them. Black people and white marched together, and the site was dedicated as a memorial burial ground. As the children sang “The Star Spangled Banner”, the men and women wept and prayed as they expressed gratitude that the long nightmare of slavery was over.”

affirmations

Where’s The Fruit?

Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.  – . Jackson Browne

stretch!

If we don’t stretch ourselves, who will? How will we grow? We can go out on a limb when we challenge our personal concepts. How do we view us? Confident, liked, loved, capable and nice or the quite the opposite? Where and when do we short-sell us? If we’re willing to look deeper into our self, gaining self-knowledge, understanding why we act or react the way we do, then that awareness, not a self-judgment, leads to direct contact with our inner, confident and capable self. Then we become naturally capable of going out on a limb and taking a risk, growing and grabbing a handful of that desirable fruit!

affirmations

Today I AM courage personified! I know I can and I will! I AM confident, liked, loved and fully capable!

Why Love Is Hard Work!

Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new. Ursula K. Le Guin

hard work!

Maintaining relationships built on love is very hard work. If we want our family to stay together then we must work on that relationship diligently and daily. If we want to maintain faith in God and not suffer from fear and isolation, then we must maintain our prayer relationship with God on a daily basis. All love requires work and we must remember that!

affirmations

Today I AM willing to work to experience love in my relationships. I refuse to take any relationship for granted. I AM ready and loving!
