Want To Stop The Suffering?

Any person who wants to stop suffering from himself can start by saying, ‘I am responsible for my own problems and no one else.’ That is the beginning of beauty in the individual life.Vernon Howard

suffering

Even during our darkest hour we control how much we suffer. Even the darkest hour must transform when the first rays of wisdom’s light pierce the darkness. Pain is inevitable but suffering is often optional.

becoming beautiful

Over time we understand that we were built to overcome obstacles and in the process become more than we were…

Once we’re watchful of self, our reactions, how we deal with situations and our attitude, then that very awareness blazes the path to more truth, beauty and goodness in life.

Love To Criticize?

If you truly desire to overcome the habit of criticizing some friend, the quickest and surest way of achieving such a change of attitude is to establish the habit of praying for that person every day of your life. The Urantia Book

gossip

Let’s face it. It’s fun to gossip and fun to criticize others. At least some of the time! It’s also true that when we criticize we don’t feel too good about our selves. It actually saps our self-esteem and energy.

self-esteem

A low self-esteem is the root of all evil. Yes, think about that. When we feel low due to a tanking self-esteem, we’re often nasty to others, and when that’s taken to an extreme we can actually hurt others.

Prayer not only addresses this issue of self-esteem but also helps us change our attitude towards other people who we so love to criticize!

Daily Affirmation: Today I feel better because I pray for others!

How To Reach Eternal Certainty…

9.30 For even if the greatest sinner worships me with all his soul … he shall soon become pure and reach everlasting peace. For this is my word of promise, that he who loves me shall not perish. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 9)

guilty?

How often do we feel guilty during the course of a day? How much guilt do we carry around from other aspects of our lives? Guilt is a fancy albatross. There’s a way to toss it aside and become free…

forgive

The attitude of forgiveness is the secret ingredient to peace and to eternal salvation. God is ever willing to forgive and she does. Why? Because she understands our nature, our plight and our circumstances better than anyone else. We are her children. When we forgive others and self we pave the way open for God’s forgiveness and love to deeply satisfy our heart. In that space we can start healing. In God’s love and in loving others therefore, is the path to peace and eternal certainty…

What Pure Love Leads To…

9.22 … to those who adore me with a pure oneness of soul, to those who are ever in harmony, I increase what they have and I give them what they have not. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 9)

through love

Because love is the stuff that the Universe is made of, love is also the means and the end for anything and everything. That’s all we need to remind ourselves of; from love, to love, for love… That is the way to approach divinity and everyone around us…

everything else is added

When we love God and his creation then nothing but eventual goodness comes our way. In love we work with the very fabric of creation, love then guides us and provides for us all that we can ever need, especially from a spiritual standpoint. Which is why we can never go wrong if we simply focus on love.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM Love to one and all.

Who’s The Master of the Universe?

9.17 I am the Father of this universe, and even the Source of the Father. I am the Mother of this universe, and the Creator of all. I am the Highest to be known…

9.18 I am the Way, and the Master who watches in silence; thy friend and thy shelter and thy abode of peace. I am the beginning and the middle and the end of all things...The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 9)

the first source

God is ever watchful of what goes on in his eternal creation. He created it all and yet sits apart while being intimately involved in his handiwork. He’s The First Source and Center of all that is. He’s closer to us than our very breath. He’s ever accessible.

the personal one

As the holy book says: Won’t he who created the ear not be able to hear? Won’t he who made the eyes not be able to see? Won’t he who crafted the mouth not be able to speak? He the mighty creator of all beings is at the highest level a most loving, personal and knowable parent.

Daily Affirmation: Today I contemplate the First Source and Center.

Why Often It’s Better To Be Quiet…

No one has a finer command of language than the person who keeps his mouth shut.Sam Rayburn

communication

Life is all about connecting with others; what would we do alone? We assume that communication means talking and expressing. However a lot can be communicated through silence. What was Jesus trying to communicate when he kept his silence during his trial in front of Herod? He had made his case to Pilate and he knew he wasn’t going to get anywhere with Herod so he submitted to the moment and kept his peace.

benefits

Silence has many benefits. It helps us keep our composure. It allows others to talk, express and be heard. The listener can learn and be more sympathetic. In the face of injustice, when nothing else works, silence is often the best response. The scales of justice will eventually tip in favor of the oppressed. Silence is also the perfect antidote to the hustle, the bustle and the craziness of modern society.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM a listener.
