What It Takes To Be Real!

They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.Carl Buechner

from the heart

Let’s be real. When we listen, let’s really listen, when we help, let’s help with all our heart and soul, and when we say something, let’s really mean it. That’s the essential trick to making a lasting impact on any person!

eternal

When we’re being real and operate from the heart we have an eternal impact on the people and events we touch. How, you might ask? It’s my firm belief that the only things of spiritual import, events to do with people and relationships, last forever. How can we make every interaction eternal?

Why Love?

…the moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is transformed. Paramahansa Yogananda

why love?

Love is a constant theme of this blog! And it’ll continue to be one! Why?

Because the only way forward is through love. The answer to any question is love itself. The only way to banish fear is via love. When love occupies the heart, fear cannot co-exist. Love creates this Universe. It’s the language and the currency of All That Is. Until we understand the importance of cultivating love in our hearts, we’ll stay confused. Love can guide our every step. It banishes all doubt. It’s the way and the only thing that’ll save our planet.

awakening love

How can we awaken the love that’s at our very core? By recognition and practice. When we walk around flowing with and in love, our entire world is transformed.

  1. We must recognize first that it’s something we desire. Can’t reach a goal if we don’t know what it is.
  2. Practice stillness. Such a practice quietens our mind and allows the love inside expression in our lives.
  3. Practice Loving Kindness: Let’s walk around smiling, exuding love and expressing our love through genuine kindness and service. We reap what we practice.

Why We Must Drink Sunshine!

Whenever you go out of doors, draw the chin in, carry the crown of the head high, and fill the lungs to the utmost; drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, and put soul into every handclasp.Elbert Hubbard

the way to be

We are children of God. We can walk upright and be confident in our spiritual birthright. All is well for those who walk daily with God.

soulful existence

By putting soul into all that we do, including our greetings, our smiles and our interactions with others, we become active conduits for God’s grace and love. That’s our purpose.

What’s The Finest Gift We Can Give?

17.20 A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 17)

why?

Why do we give? We give because we want the recipient to love us and appreciate us. God first gave of herself and when we’re attuned to her we’re compelled to give as well. A gift lands softly in its spot when it’s enrobed in love and fulfills the true needs of the receiver. Such a giver requires nothing in return.

the finest gift

A gift of true understanding and of loved filled service to another is the most we can ever give. Most people are crying out to be understood, to be heard. No one can ever be in our shoes so we’re desperate to be appreciated for what we are. A nonjudgmental gift of true listening, one that overflows with love is the finest gift possible.

What’s True Love?

Real love is not two people clinging to each other; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality.Daisaku Ikeda

love

Love is appreciating someone for what they are. It’s knowing that their essence is lovely, that they have a magnificence that is often hidden away and that they’re of eternal value.

relationships

Relationships are important because they reveal to us the crucial fabric of all existence; love! Love is at its purest when we interact with an individual at the level of their divinity and serve them according to their needs without expecting anything in return. Who do we love like that? What does love mean to us? How can we live a love-filled life?

How To Upgrade Our Soul!

I would permit no man, no matter what his color might be, to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.Booker T. Washington

defiling self

We defile ourselves when we think thoughts at lower vibratory levels. Such thoughts consist of jealousy, hatred, worry, dislike, lack and self-degradation. Our minds and bodies, literally, start vibrating at lower frequencies when we allow ourselves to think this way. We then attract more mental anguish, turmoil and ill-health. It’s law, it must happen that way.

upgrading the soul

The opposite is true of course. We can raise our vibratory levels by thinking lovely thoughts, by living in love, by appreciating beauty and art, by listening to uplifting music and by having a positive life expectation.

How will we impact our soul today, right now?

What’s The Purpose Of Life?

…you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you.Romans 8:9

spirit

Our minds are confined within the perimeter of our bodies, or so it seems. According to revelation there’s also the spirit dimension. Some folks have ‘seen’ that dimension while others have experienced it without seeing it. One way to experience it is to find the peace (and joy!) that resides at our very center. Once discovered this experience becomes a great source of fulfillment. Discover it via Stillness.

so?

What would this Spirit have us do? Just sit and relish it? This peace (and joy) triggers pure love in our being. It’s the kind of love that’s not selfish and doesn’t discriminate. If we allow it, we start to see others in a very forgiving light, we accept them as they are and we’re led to serve while being conduits of this very love… Turns out that this is also a ‘Life Purpose’ we all share! We may discover it via Stillness but we deepen it through selfless and love-filled service to our brethren…
