What Are We Doing About Love?

Who do you love? What are you doing about it?Questions

who do we love?

Let’s be very clear about this. Who do we love? Why? To what end? Why is this love important? When we love them what do we feel? What do we want to feel? To what extent have we expressed this love?

expression

Expression equals creation. Until we express something into reality, all we have are thoughts and emotions. It takes thoughts to kick off a creation, but express we must to complete the cycle! Let’s put into expression, in 2012, our love for all who are important in our lives. Can we pledge to that?

Back To Square One…

When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.Viktor Frankl

square one!

Ever wonder where the phrase ‘back to square one’ came from? This phrase had popped into my head while writing this blog so I went and researched it. Apparently it came from games kids play like hopscotch or snakes and ladders! Makes sense. Also makes sense that whenever we’re straddled with a tough situation at hand we must hop back into square one!

change self

Square one is us. We must stare at the mirror and reaffirm that the main way we can approach life problems and challenges is by changing self. Life begins with us and ends back with us; we must get back to square one and ponder what needs to change!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM at square one!

Why We Must Jump In…

Only the spoon knows what is stirring in the pot.Sicilian Proverb

step in

The reality of the pudding can only be found in tasting it. The best way to live a conscious spiritual life (the reason for this blog) is by stepping into the river that flows eternally…

what’s stirring?

Big changes are astir. When we pay attention we’ll notice that the current stream of events are changing our planet forever. We can be bystanders or we can be active participants. Because everything springs from a spiritual underpinning, we must apply ourselves spiritually. Let’s strive to understand:

  • What is it that’s gnawing at us?
  • What are we upset about?
  • What do we need?
  • What will satisfy us?

The answers and the direction will then be forthcoming!

Why YOU Are It!

You are something new in this world. Be glad of it.Dale Carnegie

new!

Ok, you and I, are totally unique, in all of time and all of space… Let’s allow that to totally sink in! Let’s meditate on the enormity of what this means to us and those around us…

rejoice!

Let’s rejoice in this spiritual fact! We have so much to celebrate! We are God’s special children. How should we feel about this? What will we do with our specialness? How is our time best spent?

Why We Must Take Bold Steps!

Standing in the inspiring vision of my future, I boldly take every step – large and small – with courage and intent.Jonathan Lockwood Huie

future

What is the most amazing future we can imagine for self and the world? To what material, mental and spiritual heights can we scale? What can we dream up next? When will we start acting like the children of God that we are already?

courageous intent

We can do all that’s good for others and self through courage and intent. Courage allows us to take the first and consequent steps. We can be focused on the goal and know that God gently holds us in his palm. Intent is essential because that’s the co-creation the Universe seeks from us. God is unable to act in the realm of the human without our active participation. He provides all the building blocks and we may join the fun with just a dream in our hearts! The divine play is then in action!

What Habits Do To Us!

Cultivate only the habits that you are willing should master you. Elbert Hubbard

habits die hard

We’re creatures of habit. All our habits spring from the realm of thought and energy which is why they’re so hard to unseat!

  • Assumptions: What do we assume about self, others and life? For example do we assume good health?
  • Beliefs: What do we believe about the universe, where we come from and where we’re going? Do we believe that we’ll always have enough?
  • Attitudes: How do we approach tasks, our future and people? Do we have a ‘can-do’ attitude?

How can we examine our base habits?

create

We can’t always choose. We’re born into a whole set of familial vibrations that initially make up our assumptions, beliefs and attitudes. Slowly we build life habits that predict the rest of our lives.

As we become aware of our life programming we have the creative opportunity to replace habits that don’t work with ones that do! Will we master self or allow habits to master us?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM the master of my destiny!

Why We Must Start Here…

Better do a good deed near at home than go far away to burn incense.Chinese Proverb

starts here

All effort must start at the base, at home, with us… This means several things:

  1. Gandhi said ‘we must be the change we want to see in the world’. Right off the bat we know it’s us who needs the most work! If we change self, our attitude and perceptions, then we may be ready to go change the world!
  2. It’s easier to be nice to folks at work and to others outside the family. It’s so much harder to be nice, loving and patient with immediate family. Why’s that? A self-examination can help.
  3. Sometimes it’s hardest to be nice to self. We don’t like our hair, our make-up or our body. We’re ever comparing self to others. We’re unable to forgive ourselves. Why do we so often hold self to such high standards? To what end?

goes there

All effort spent on us is well rewarded. We start to get along with us. We’re increasingly more patient with family and others around us. Our improvement is noticeable to others and can become an inspiration to them. All intelligent effort spent on self-improvement will eventually benefit others around us and that’s the ultimate reward for self-improvement!

Daily Affirmation: Today I start right here!
