What Is Faith?

Infinite patience produces immediate results.  – A Course in Miracles (ACIM)

what?

We want things now. We want people to just understand us. We want everything taken care of ASAP. We are inherently impatient. We worry about our future and think that we must figure it all out. We lack faith.

faith

To have faith is to be patient. To trust in God is to have patience. When we can let go, when we breathe more deeply, when we believe then we’re practicing ‘infinite patience’. As soon as we adopt this posture, we can rest, we’re at peace. We can more easily access our intuition when we’re peaceful, trusting and patient. Let’s develop this muscle daily!

How To Find The Best Career!

Make a "career" of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do things with your money that will then make you happy.  Abraham

backwards?

We have it backwards. We want to do something so that we can get what we want and then be happy. We forget it’s about the journey not the destination alone. Along the way we get miserable, resentful and unhappy especially when we’re not noticing these emotions in our lives… What to do?

find the joy

Many years ago Marsha Sinetar wrote an amazing book called Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow. The title is self-explanatory of course. Similarly we must be happy first. We must first find the joy in our lives. We must first be thankful for what we have. We then unleash the vibrations which will attract all else that we need to persist that same joy and happiness in our lives… Simple really, and it works!!

How To Win Any Argument!

A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.Dale Carnegie

don’t argue

The best way to win an argument is to lose it! What do we really gain from being right? By being right we do affirm ourselves and feel good, however we do the opposite to the other party. Is it really worth it? In the longer run will it really matter who’s right? What would happen if we genuinely stop caring about being always right? Why not let the other person be right, especially when it truly doesn’t matter!?

life principles

10th Dale Carnegie Principle: The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.

Here’s a story from the book:

"I was attending a banquet one night given in Sir Ross’s honor; and during the dinner, the man sitting next to me told a humorous story which hinged on the quotation “There’s a divinity that shapes our ends, rough-hew them how we will.”
The raconteur mentioned that the quotation was from the Bible. He was wrong. I knew that, I knew it positively. There couldn’t be the slightest doubt about it. And so, to get a feeling of importance and display my superiority, I appointed myself as an unsolicited and unwelcome committee of one to correct him. He stuck to his guns. What? From Shakespeare? Impossible! Absurd! That quotation was from the Bible. And he knew it.
The storyteller was sitting on my right; and Frank Gammond, an old friend of mine, was seated at my left. Mr. Gammond had devoted years to the study of Shakespeare, So the storyteller and I agreed to submit the question to Mr. Gammond. Mr. Gammond listened, kicked me under the table, and then said: “Dale, you are wrong. The gentleman is right. It is from the Bible.”
On our way home that night, I said to Mr. Gammond, “Frank, you knew that quotation was from Shakespeare,”
“Yes, of course,” he replied, “Hamlet, Act Five, Scene Two. But we were guests at a festive occasion, my dear Dale. Why prove to a man he is wrong? Is that going to make him like you? Why not let him save his face? He didn’t ask for your opinion. He didn’t want it. Why argue with him? Always avoid the acute angle.” The man who said that taught me a lesson I’ll never forget. I not only had made the storyteller uncomfortable, but had put my friend in an embarrassing situation. How much better it would have been had I not become argumentative.”

The Meaning Of Life?

Challenging the meaning of life is the truest expression of the state of being human.  – Viktor Frankl

life

What does it mean to be alive? What’s our responsibility? Response-ability? How should we respond to Life and its challenges? What should we make of the good times and the not so ‘good’ times?

reasons

There are many spiritual reasons why we’re alive. We’re an expression of ‘All That Is’. We are born to grow an individuality, a unique self that exists nowhere else in the vast universe! Frankl here makes an amazing comment about what it means to be a human. We’re meant to challenge life! It makes sense because until we do that, we cannot be expressive in a personal way, we cannot be creative, we wouldn’t be life artists!! We must challenge life to truly understand life!

What Are We Feeling?

Whatever feelings you have within you are attracting your tomorrow.  – The Secret

feelings

If one subscribes to ‘The Secret’ and the Law of Attraction then we should know that…

  • If we’re feeling sad, more sadness is likely to be attracted tomorrow
  • If we feel angry more anger producing situations are heading our way
  • If we feel healthy today, we’re likely to be healthy in the future
  • If we are in joy then joy is coming into our lives

essence

Our predominant feelings create our future.

This is the essence of the ‘Law Of Attraction’. It’s important to hold it foremost in our minds because we forget it so easily. Our aim shouldn’t be that next job, fancy car, new house or partner. We should aim to experience true joy in our hearts and our environment, now. The best life possible will follow naturally from that ‘feeling’!
