A Grand Purpose!

There is a great and glorious purpose in the march of the universes through space. All of your mortal struggling is not in vain. – The Urantia Papers

a purpose to it all

As we finalize and firm up our 2011 resolutions let’s assume that there’s a purpose to all that we do. Why assume? Because for one we can’t be 100% certain until our consciousness emerges on the other side of this mortal life. Also because it’s a great assumption to live by, purpose automatically gives meaning to our lives.  So what’s your life purpose?

finding and creating our purpose

In my opinion our life purpose is a product of two forces. One is that which is given us, it’s our spiritual DNA, it’s our very uniqueness. We can see, interpret, feel, value, do and deliver concepts and things like no one else in this stupendously large universe! The other force is one of our own creativity. We’re born with certain talents and abilities, what we do with these gifts is largely up to us. God (the Universe) wants us to be creative and original. In choosing our own paths we contribute immensely to the larger. Which is why our ‘mortal struggling’ is never ‘in vain’!

Daily Affirmation: Today I claim my talents and carve my purpose.

What’s The Greatest Wealth?

Contentment is the greatest wealth. – The Urantia Papers

wealth

  • How do we define success for ourselves?

  • What is true wealth?

  • How much is enough?

  • What do we truly ‘need’?

  • What do we ultimately seek?

contentment

The very source of it all, the fountain of truth, the satisfaction of all our true desires, our eternal guide and our ultimate goal resides quietly within our hearts. It yearns to make contact, but often cannot because of the electro-chemical nature of our minds. It also does not because we don’t seek it. It never forces, but gently prods if we only listen. Stillness helps in making contact.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM satisfied and thankful.

In Partnership With God

4.24 Who in all his work sees God, he in truth goes unto God: God is his worship, God is his offering…

4.39 He who has faith has wisdom…and he who finds wisdom, soon finds the peace supreme.. – The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 4)

it’s all god

The stuff that the universe is made of, comes from God. We come from God. When we keep that in mind, we can have God as our constant companion. It’s making this approach a habit that makes it very powerful.

faith leads to peace

When we consciously accept that God moves with us, we are guided, we are safe, we can now leave all outcomes to providence and we can slowly learn to let go… This faith helps us gain a certain peace, and that’s a goal we all seek.

Daily Affirmation: Today I see God in everything.

Do We Have Free Will?

God loves us and believes in us and has done and will do anything he can to help us, but he will not impose on our free agency.  – Marion D. Hanks Ensign

free will creatures

No one person can know God’s will for the Universe or for other individuals. It appears that God wanted us to be creatures with the power to choose. That means she will not force herself on us. Which in turn means that we must ask to receive guidance and anything else that supports God’s larger vision for everyone. Our ability to choose (and keep God at a distance) also helps explain the planet’s sad state.

ask to receive

If we go about thinking we have the answers, that we know what’ll satisfy and soothe us then that’s exactly what will play out. Such an approach doesn’t work. We stay as directionless and as dissatisfied as ever. Isn’t that right? So what to do?

Let’s involve God into our daily life. Ask for help, consult God often, even moment by moment, continue to have faith in all that’s happening and show patience for God’s plan as it unfurls in our lives.

Daily Affirmation: Today I walk with God.

Why The Universe Conspires With You

Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

decide

We must make decisions if we’re to grow and move. No decision, especially in the longer run , is wrong. We’re often afraid to decide because it means upsetting the status quo. All of creation, our lives, everything around us is driven by change, if we don’t decide we might regret it more than a decision we could have made.

expect

Once we decide, based on our expectations (thoughts & beliefs) the Universe rolls into action! Do you know this to be true in your life? It certainly appears to be true for mine. The Universe is a thought based system that responds to the weakest stirring of a desire. Through desires we grow, achieve, learn, experience and effect lasting change that has an eternal import. Let’s jump in and expect to land on our feet!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM a decision engine.
