We fret and search for the ‘one’ that will complete us, one without whom we just couldn’t live. Does such a One exist? The one that we search for is the true self that’s deep within us, and the ‘other’. It’s not the manufactured personality that we think we are or the other appears to be. And until we realize this we’re doomed to forever be disappointed in us and in them!
God know us intimately. She knows our needs and our wants. True prayer (and meditation) is nothing but showing up in God’s presence with empty hands while staying still in thought and action.
Beyond thought, any concept, belief or assumption is who I AM. And this true self can only be experienced in the here and now. When I deeply desire for Truth, it has no choice but to become my experience, although I’m unable to run away from it even if I think I can.
My mind is the container within which my entire world dances. It’s up to me whether I dance in joy or whether I whimper along within Life (my mind). What choice will I make this moment? It wouldn’t be a choice at all unless I ruled my own mind, and who but I must rule ‘my’ mind?
We are not our body, or our mind. We are that which experiences everything that appears to be happening to us and around us. We’re the witness which is also the sense of ‘I AMness’, the beingness. Just be that. Think not.
We’re grasping for what we think we need. Happiness, safety, wealth, relationship, peace and quiet. All this will come on its own if we simply be infinitely patient. With such patience we’ll simply fall quiet, be relaxed and the stillness of the deepest ocean will descend upon us.
Let go completely and simply wait, Grace will have no choice but to consume us in its utterly merciful love.
The Mind of the universe is the same mind that we are. That grand Mind is our very source. Returning to and knowing that mind is our privilege and only destiny. Undertaking such a journey leads to awakening and eventually enlightenment.
