What Are We Choosing?

You can choose to be a person who has resulted simply from what has happened, or from what you’ve chosen to be and do about what has happened.  – Neale Donald Walsch

events + choice

How we react to life events is a decision we make! Jack Canfield shares the following formula:

E + R = O

Event plus our reaction to that event results in an outcome. The event is what it is; how we choose to be (sad, happy, indifferent etc.) and to do anything (shout, smile, lash out, learn…) is a choice we make every time.

being

Our peace is entirely up to us because we control our reaction to all external stimuli. How do we choose to react? Rather how do we choose to be?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM choosing the higher reaction!

Why We’re Enough…

…by design, who you are is always the greater than what you now face.  – The Universe

challenges

Life challenges are ever-present. Why do we get overwhelmed by them? How can we best face them?

greater

We’re always greater than any challenge presented to us. What if we always held this strengthening idea within us? This also means that we can pretty much succeed at anything we can dream up. What then will we set out to achieve?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM big enough for any challenge!

How Dreams Choose Us…

Always trust your dreams. They’ve chosen you, as much as you’ve chosen them.  – The Universe

dreams

Dreams are not dreamt up by us alone. Dreams are the stuff of the Universe. Just like many of our ideas, dreams are how the Creative Force acts in the realms of time and space. If we don’t dance the dreams that we dream, the Universe doesn’t get to play!

chosen

God creates us and then he creates through us and in partnership with us. The dreams that he dreams must find fertile ground. And so God’s dreams choose us as possible recipients and co-creators. It’s a divine responsibility of the highest order.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM dreaming big dreams and feeling good!

Why Joy?

He simply said, “Choose joy.”   – Jeff C. Olsen

mood

We choose our mood. Period. Through our general temperament we also attract what eventually shows up in our lives. That’s how important it is to manage our moment-to-moment mood and temperament.

joy

The mood with the highest vibration is one that can be described as ‘love-filled joy’. That’s our goal, for every day and in fact for every moment. How can we get there?

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM joyously loving!

How To Handle Any Situation…

I knew that there are no accidents in this life. That everything happens for a reason. Yet we always get to choose how we will experience what happens to us here.  – Jeff C. Olsen

life

Life happens, some ‘good’ and some ‘bad’. When a child can’t find their toy we as adults can see that it’s not a huge problem, but the child can’t see that. We also hope that the child can grow from such an experience and that’s where the incident might be valuable.

choice

With some experience the child learns that losing a toy is not a life-ending situation. Often the toy can be found or a new one might appear instead. The child learns that there might not have been a real need to overreact Smile! The choice on how we react and process any incident is always up to us.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM choosing my reaction.

What’s Life All About?

I realized that no one ever really dies. We always live on. I had experienced a God as real and tangible as we are. He knows our every heartache, yet allows us to experience and endure them for our growth. His is the highest form of love; He allows us to become what we will. He watches as we create who we are. He allows us to experience life in a way that makes us more like Him, divine creators of our own destiny.  – Jeff C. Olsen

Bio

In 1997, Jeff experienced a horrific automobile accident which inflicted multiple life threatening injuries, including crushing both his legs. His left leg was amputated above the knee. The most devastating outcome of the accident was the loss of his wife and youngest son, both killed instantly. At that time, Jeff had profound experiences, which deepened his spirituality and gave him insights and gifts not common in today’s world. He found the courage to carry on, heal, care for his living son and eventually thrive in his career and community contributions.

discover you

Few people suffer as much as Jeff did. I just finished reading his book and it’s a must read in my opinion here’s why:

  • Think life is tough? Some others have had it much ‘worse’.
  • Don’t know how to find joy in daily life? Then read a story like Jeff’s.
  • Don’t know where life is taking us? Get some clues by reading near-death accounts on this site http://www.nderf.org/ and this one http://ndestories.org/.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM alive and well!!

What’s Forgiveness?

Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past.  – Lily Tomlin

the past

We’re all married to the past in some fashion or another. Because of this tie to the past we consciously or otherwise are unable to forgive others or self. This is the root of most unhappiness.

let go

Love this quote because it encapsulates the main learning when it comes to the topic of forgiveness. The past is irreversible. At some point we have to consciously recognize each fixation we have about past incidents and let go. We can then be at peace!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM giving up all hope for a better past!
