Where’s The True North?

A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two watches is never quite sure.Lee Segall

the north?

How do we decide what’s right or wrong? On what basis do we make daily decisions? What makes us choose one fork on the road over another? What guides some of our momentous life decisions? How can we be more decisive? How can we think more clearly?

the north

We must discover a way, a mechanism, a philosophy or a means to help us think better. Guidelines might come from our ‘religion’, our society and family. Prayer, stillness and journaling are excellent ways to gain a deeper knowledge of self. Truly understanding what drives us, i.e. our values, is yet another way. It’s crucial that we understand what’s most important to us and why…

Why Slow And Steady Wins…

I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.  – Abraham Lincoln

take it easy

We are all in a daily rush to get nowhere…

reflection

When we…

  • Take it easy
  • Breathe more deeply
  • Reflect more than we do things
  • Ponder instead of running to places

Then we get to the heart of life, we truly live in the moment and all our experiences become more meaningful. Let’s slow down…

How To Be The Greatest!

He who would be greatest among you, let him become server of all.Jesus, The Urantia Papers

forget the norm

Forget what society tells us, forget what we’ve been raised to believe, instead listen to what Spirit urges us to do…

Spiritual realities underscore our total existence. Our existence is like the visible spectrum of light. It’s such a tiny portion of the total light spectrum, which is like the Spirit world. Amazing things and much greater pursuits are in store for us once we’re done with this short but intense life experience on our planet.

follow the spirit

Deep inside us but also in the periphery of our thoughts sits the Spirit. It’s constantly looking to impress upon us these greater realities. It tries and sometimes succeeds. When we experience ‘peace beyond all understanding’ then we’re following the leading of the Spirit. Spirit always leads to greater service and love towards one and all!

Are We Doomed To Our ‘Default Future’?

Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life. So tell it the way you want it to be.Abraham

Off blogging till April, 23rd, see you back here!

which story?

What story are we expressing daily? What do we tell self and others? Consciously or without full awareness? Here are some examples:

  • I’m getting old…
  • I get easily tired…
  • Life is tough…
  • Life is full of sorrow…
  • I don’t care…
  • No one loves me…

What story (across multiple dimensions) are we repeating all day long?

let’s rewrite

Recently a friend brought up the concept of a ‘default future’. That’s the future we guarantee ourselves if we don’t change our current thinking and actions…

Let’s rewrite our life stories. Let’s rewire our thinking to design a better ‘default future’:

  • I feel good…
  • Life is such a blessing…
  • God is good…
  • I love it all…
  • All is well…
  • I’m thankful for everything…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM rewriting my ‘default future’!

How To Master Life!

The process of Mastery, then, is one of acceptance. It is a quiet embracing of what is. It is a non-resistance. It is a gentle walking into the moment, knowing that it holds for us, always, what is best for us [in] all ways.Neale Donald Walsch

one answer

If there was ever one answer to the question, ‘How should one live daily’, it would be: ‘Embrace what is’…

let it be = mastery

We must recognize what is and embrace it fully. Then, while being led by Spirit, we can do all that might be necessary and possible. It’s like swimming down the river, flowing with it, without thrashing about, gently changing course towards one edge or the other… In this state we’re peaceful and we don’t compare our progress with any other swimmer because we know that the river itself is headed to the Ocean…

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM a believer, therefore I let go…

How To Live A Fearless Life!

Set your mind at work to solve its problems; teach your intellect to work for you; refuse longer to be dominated by fear like an unthinking animal.  – The Urantia Papers

thinking

Humans can think, we can discern, we can decide and we can act. We do this by using our minds of course. The mind as a faculty is not powered by the brain alone. There’s a component of it that comes from higher sources. That’s our access to the higher self, to better decisions and to happier living.

When will we use this amazing faculty while asserting control?

asserting control

We must remember that thinking allows us to step back and consider the landscape, the situation, sharpen or reverse a perspective, use experience to our advantage and act in faith! The thing that does the thinking, the decision making and the acting is not the mind, it’s the ‘I’, it’s us. That ‘I’ can assert control over runaway thinking, fear-ridden thinking or thinking that’s turning negative. We just have to realize we can assert control and then just do it!

Daily Affirmation: Today I use my mind as a tool!

What Do We Prioritize?

An inch of time is an inch of gold but you can’t buy that inch of time with an inch of gold.  – Chinese Proverbs

most important?

What do we hold most important? What do our daily actions tell us about what’s most important to us? Are the two (our values & actions) congruent with each other? If not why? What are the gaps? What’s holding us back?

action

Once we know our values (most important to us) we must act. We must actualize those values into our lives. We must experience them. If family’s most important, as an example, then let’s:

  • Show that by spending more time with family
  • Prove it by being completely present with them
  • Express it by loving them unconditionally

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM focused on the most important stuff…
