We live in a dark world. Dark because we don’t know much about our spiritual origins, we know not how all this fits and we generally don’t know where we’re headed. What’s the purpose of all that’s happening?

According to The Urantia Papers, we’re in the dark because Urantia, our planet, is under an information quarantine from the rest of the Universe! There’s a time coming, soon, when this veil will be lifted and we’ll know more about our place in this amazing universe!!

Given that we experience so little of the known light/audio spectrum it’s obvious that we know very little of this universe. It’s mostly unknown. That is what makes us fearful and it is also which makes life so interesting. If it were all known then truly life wouldn’t be worth living. Just like we couldn’t enjoy Christmas everyday, we couldn’t bear to live in a universe that’s all known.

So how do we become peaceful travellers through this most amazing and enthralling experience we call Life? I believe the best way to do so is to practice the following:

  •  Trust in faith that a great and loving intelligence is the creator and upholder of all that we see.
  •  Know that everything, ‘good’ or ‘bad’, is creatively used by God for everyone’s ultimate good and
  • Spend time connecting with this loving presence through various means.

July 1st and July 4th mark independence for Canada and the United States, respectively, congratulations!! Independence Days by Month and Country.

We ought to be free. What does that mean?

We should be free of fear. We should be free of our biases and ignorance.  We should free ourselves of our limiting assumptions. We should be free of all negativity. We should free others of our expectations. We should freely forgive everyone including self. We should be free to love. We should be free of others’ opinions of us. We should be free of what society thinks we should be doing or wearing.

We should free ourselves from excessive materialism. We should free some time up to devote to God. We should free some time up to serve others.

In the same vein, how do we fall short in others’ eyes? What pressure do we feel, daily, to measure up to what others may want from us?

We are lazy and we refuse to learn from history. Our only true learning comes from facing life challenges directly. Our planet is just the right place to live a life full of rich challenges. We’re forced out of our stupor and must rise to meet any situation that the Universe designs for us!

Why were we chosen to live this life? What part do we play in all this? What do we get out of this? Why is it the way it is? All these questions will be answered in due time and to our full satisfaction. Until then it’s our task to live life fully, fearlessly, lovingly and continue to seek answers! Life is interesting!
