Why Haggle With God?

God is trying to sell you something

But you don’t want to buy.

That is what your suffering is:

Your fantastic haggling,

Your manic screaming over price.

Hafez

the end of suffering…

We cause most of our own suffering if not all of it. It’s our way to justify being small and cowardly. Directly or indirectly we blame God for it all. But God has no part in our suffering, his hand is always extended towards us while we insist on looking away. When will we turn our head back towards God and grasp his hand to safety and peace?

When Will We Stop Running?

You can’t get away from yourself by going to a boozebar. Elbert Hubbard

can’t hide

Whenever we distract ourselves we’re running away from self. Distractions include booze, food, sex, TV, even reading, our phones of course, just about every action or thought activity we engage in. Agreed it’s a very strict definition for ‘distraction’ but that’s necessary if we want to get to the crux, the very center, of who we are.

Why Fear Isn’t Real…

Can anything of God not be for all and always? Love is incapable of any exceptions. ACIM

the real

Anything that’s temporary is not ultimately real. Everything around us, our stuff, our bodies as well as feelings and such things are quite temporary, as is obvious. So then what’s ‘of God’ or in other words what’s ultimately real?

What Is It That We Want Most? ’Tis Peace…

There can be no peace if you believe you need something before you can be at peace. Gina Lake

peace

We are all ultimately seeking peace, even if we call it by other names such as happiness, purpose or fulfillment. The good news is that we don’t have to ‘do’ anything or get to anyplace to experience peace. This is fabulous news indeed once we truly understand its import. Rejoice! And be at peace…

Black, White or Truth?

The only thing in life that is black or white are those colors. Gina Lake

yes, no?

The main reason we have strife in the world is because everyone thinks they’re right. We as individuals, as religious and political groups, and as countries, we ‘know’ that we are right. Even events and experiences are either good or bad. There’s often no middle ground. What’s the truth here?
