How To Move Beyond Negativity…

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. – Proverb

negativity

The problem with complaining and negativity is simple. It forces us to spend time at the level of the problem, at a lower frequency and often leaves us feeling sorry for our selves. Let’s seek the light instead, heck let’s create some!

How can we create light in any given situation? Lets become aware of what we’re thinking about the situation. If our analysis is turning negative, we should note how the thinking is affecting us in the moment. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t analyze and critique when necessary. Lets ensure that the thought spiral isn’t taking us down with it. Instead we can bring ‘light’ to the situation or person by reminding ourselves that thoughts matter. We control the vibrations we dwell in… Let’s step back and view (shine a light) from a ‘higher’ vantage point.

Daily Affirmation: Today I bring light to each person and situation.

Why We’re Alive…

Devote your life to proving that love is the greatest thing in the world.  – Jesus, The Urantia Papers

jesus

Jesus demonstrated that God is real and ever present in our hearts. He showed that the path to God is direct, just like a child’s to his parent. We’re never alone.

Why We Must Let The Past Be…

The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there. – Leslie P. Hartley

the past

The only true consciousness of time that we have is of the present moment. Just like the previous moment, the past doesn’t exist, it’s gone. When the future arrives, which it does every moment, it is our present. For creativity to flourish we must be worry-free and operate in the Eternal Now.

How To Do It!

First say to yourself what you would be; then do what you have to do. – Epictetus

envision

‘Say to yourself’ is all about envisioning, visualizing and affirming! We must prime ourselves with that which we want to create. With that which we want to ‘be’. There’s a clear distinction between wanting a thing versus choosing to BE in the future, more than we are today. Visualizing the end result and feeling the emotions that go with its completion will set us up nicely for its manifestation…

act

Action must follow, duh!! Knowing that we’ll succeed, let’s take small steps towards our goal. No goal is too big for us! We are an offspring of the divine creative force, let’s never forget our heritage!!

How To Stop Being A Fool!

The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. – Socrates

fools

We are big fools. We think we know it all. Watch us smirk when others make mistakes. Watch us ‘help’ others when they apparently don’t know what they’re doing. See us feel sorry for them because we see others stumbling. And we even pray for some who need ‘light’ more than we do…

our business

Our business ought to be just us. We aren’t served well when we’re supercilious. The world would be a much better place tomorrow if we can but watch and correct who we are today…

How Deserving Are We?

When someone offers you a compliment, do you receive it, or do you sort of just shrug it off? – Abraham

worthy?

How comfortable are we receiving compliments? If not then we must examine why we think we aren’t worthy. Do we feel that we have to struggle to obtain something worthwhile in life? If we don’t feel worthy or think we have to struggle for everything good in our lives, then Life will mirror that expectation…

receiving

We are the wards of the Eternal and therefore deserving of all the goodness Life can bring us.  We must be comfortable receiving and not think that we’ll jinx anything. The main force that impacts our life ‘positively’ or ‘negatively’ is the vibration we carry around and project constantly.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM receiving Life’s goodness without reservation!!

Why Is There Suffering?

God is never wrathful, vengeful, or angry.  – The Urantia Papers

suffering

Suffering is rampant on our planet. Suffering exists because of some of these factors in my opinion:

1) The nature of reality at our level of existence: Given that we’re made of flesh, blood and emotions, it’s inevitable that we will suffer physically and emotionally. Suffering is not optional in this realm.

2) Our choices: Humans make choices that result in happiness and suffering. We must be responsible for making such choices. Humans are behind most suffering on Earth.

3) Benefits of suffering: We grow when we suffer. We become wiser as we live life. God has a plan that takes advantage of the intense living that we experience on our planet.

“Is pleasure–the satisfaction of happiness—desirable? Then must man live in a world where the alternative of pain and the likelihood of suffering are ever-present experiential possibilities.” – Life’s Inevitabilities (The Urantia Papers)

God

God is not human. He does not get angry. He does not visit punishment on his children. He is love. Just like we see far more than our child who cries so soulfully when hurt, so does God when he sees us suffering. There’s much more to life and to God’s plan for us than we can ever imagine while still on this planet! Rejoice, we truly have nothing to worry about because we are eternal beings!!

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM embracing all Life.
