What’s Our Potential?

We know what we are, but not what we may be.Shakespeare, Hamlet

self knowledge?

We don’t know what we are either. We live according to a certain concept of what we are and we apply a similar standard to others. We think we know what others are and then paint them with the brush of our expectations of them. That’s a recipe for major disaster because we start with a poor idea of self and match it to a poor idea of others. No wonder relationships are so hard!

what we may be…

Along with a poor knowledge of self we often can’t be sure of our pure potential! Being of divine heritage, the sky indeed is the limit to what we can achieve. This is especially true if we partner with the Universe to achieve divine goals that impact a larger group of people and not just us. That then is the way forward, combine efforts with God and proceed forward! Only true success can result.

What Pure Love Leads To…

9.22 … to those who adore me with a pure oneness of soul, to those who are ever in harmony, I increase what they have and I give them what they have not. The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 9)

through love

Because love is the stuff that the Universe is made of, love is also the means and the end for anything and everything. That’s all we need to remind ourselves of; from love, to love, for love… That is the way to approach divinity and everyone around us…

everything else is added

When we love God and his creation then nothing but eventual goodness comes our way. In love we work with the very fabric of creation, love then guides us and provides for us all that we can ever need, especially from a spiritual standpoint. Which is why we can never go wrong if we simply focus on love.

Daily Affirmation: Today I AM Love to one and all.

What To Do Now?

Time is life. It is irreversible and irreplaceable. To waste your time is to waste your life, but to master your time is to master your life and make the most of it.Alan Lakein

time value

Each breath we take is a measure of time and of our life. Just like each breath is precious so is the time that the breath occupies. And each such moment is unique. What will we make of it?

now or never!

Each moment we have 2 choices:

  • To Be: We can relax, collect our thoughts and figure out what comes next. Breathe….
  • To Do: Take action based on a plan we’ve made previously. If we don’t have a plan, let’s make one, now. Action!!

Daily Affirmation: Today I master life by mastering time.

Why Pursuing Safety Is a Trap!

When we renounce our dreams and find peace, we go through a short period of tranquility. But the dead dreams begin to rot within us and to infect our entire being. We then become cruel to those around us, and then we begin to direct this cruelty against ourselves. That’s when illnesses and psychoses arise. What we sought to avoid in combat – disappointment and defeat – come upon us because of our cowardice.Paulo Coelho

kill dreams –> hurt self & others

We all want to be safe and in seeking that safety we often sacrifice our dreams! We’re all afraid of life and of death. This fear is what burrows deep inside us and creates long lasting issues that emerge in different ways. When we can’t surface those fears, anger and other frustrations are the result which in turn hurt us and others.

the antidote

It’s a major travesty when we suppress our dreams and force them to become meaningless. The dreams arise from a deep creative place inside us, a place that itself springs from the divine. Many of our dreams are dreams of the divine. When we push such dreams away we deny God, we deny Universal Intelligence and we deny our own selves. So let’s rejuvenate our lost dreams; let’s rescue them from the abyss and let’s give them a new lease to life!

What Should We Look For?

If you just look for what’s right – in others, in relationships, in yourself and your journey – you’ll always find it. Same when looking for what’s wrong. The Universe

what’s right!

If we always look for what’s good, what’s right and what can work then I would call us optimists not polyannas! Yes it’s quite possible that we will be unrealistic occasionally but at least we can be happier overall? And with such a positive outlook we can more easily overlook all that’s wrong, can go wrong and is wrong with people, relationships and events!

else

The alternative is pretty sad. If we look for what’s wrong we’ll be worriers, we’ll be jealous, we’ll be sad … in other words we’ll suffer! Now why would we choose that??

Why We Must Dream Big Dreams!

Some people go through life trying to find out what the world holds for them only to find out too late that it’s what they bring to the world that really counts.Lucy Maud Montgomery

what do we bring?

It’s in our outlook, our perspective and what we expect from life, that determines how life, in general, turns out for us. Why do we become superstitious or want to predict our future? One reason is that we think the future is pre-determined in some fashion and that it would be cool to find out what life has in store for us. However it’s more apt to think the other way, certainly a more powerful way, that it’s up to us, how we define our life and what we bring to it!

dreams lead the way

What better way to define life than by dreaming!? Dreams is what stuff is made of! God dreamt (created) it all. We get to do the same, in our own domains, in partnership with God. We’re in partnership with God because her spirit lives inside us, always beckoning, always prodding, always encouraging us to move forward, to dream, to create and to put our mark on life! Dream on….

Who’s The Master of the Universe?

9.17 I am the Father of this universe, and even the Source of the Father. I am the Mother of this universe, and the Creator of all. I am the Highest to be known…

9.18 I am the Way, and the Master who watches in silence; thy friend and thy shelter and thy abode of peace. I am the beginning and the middle and the end of all things...The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 9)

the first source

God is ever watchful of what goes on in his eternal creation. He created it all and yet sits apart while being intimately involved in his handiwork. He’s The First Source and Center of all that is. He’s closer to us than our very breath. He’s ever accessible.

the personal one

As the holy book says: Won’t he who created the ear not be able to hear? Won’t he who made the eyes not be able to see? Won’t he who crafted the mouth not be able to speak? He the mighty creator of all beings is at the highest level a most loving, personal and knowable parent.

Daily Affirmation: Today I contemplate the First Source and Center.
