Where’s the fruit?

Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.H. Jackson Browne

If we don’t stretch ourselves, who will? How will we grow?

We can go out on a limb when we challenge our personal concepts.

How do we view us? Confident, liked, loved, capable and nice or the quite the opposite? Where and when do we short-sell us?

If we’re willing to look deeper into our self, gaining self-knowledge, understanding why we act or react the way we do, then that awareness, not a self-judgment, leads to direct contact with our inner, confident and capable self.

Then we become naturally capable of going out on a limb and taking a risk, growing and grabbing a handful of that desirable fruit!

Happiness is a present attitude

Happiness is a present attitude–not a future condition. – Hugh Prather

It’s all here, it’s all now.

3 words, Happiness, Present and Attitude. These 3 words sum it all up!

Happiness is what we all want, what we all seek. Happiness is being content and joyful with what you are and what you have.

Present is the only time we’ve got, Now. We can only experience happiness in the present moment.

Attitude, the right kind is what we need to handle any situation in life and to stay happy!

Combine the 3 together and you have the making of a fulfilling life!

How much of your life are you spending in fear?

Few persons live up to the faith which they really have. Unreasoned fear is a master intellectual fraud practiced upon the evolving mortal soul. The Urantia Papers

Why do we let our fears dominate us?

It’s because we don’t see them creeping up on us. Any time you feel depression setting or a feel uneasy, start paying attention to your thoughts. You’ll soon be able to trace that unease to an unreasonable fear you have of something or someone.

If you can become aware of such fearful thoughts you’re well on your way to recognizing the ‘fraud’ they’re playing in your life. Take control, you own your thoughts, you own your being, don’t let just any thought control you.

You have inside you a true faith that just needs some sustenance, some attention. So instead of running along with fearful thoughts, choose loving and more confidence building thoughts. You are your own master.

We must want to change

God changes not what is in people, until they change what is in themselves. – The Koran

Why is it that we always have such rich suggestions for others :)?

Like Gandhi once said, ‘You must be the change, you want to see in the world’. We are only responsible for our own-selves. We can only change us.

As we start to do that, our world sets itself right. We’re less likely to have relationship problems. We’re happier and more fulfilled.

Living life consciously

I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor.Henry David Thoreau

What does it take to be happy and to achieve what we desire?

Conscious endeavor’

Consciousness of what will be good for us, consciousness of who we are, what we truly want and then conscious effort towards the goals of being and doing.

The best of now and here

No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
John Greenleaf Whittier

There’s a lot of good and goodness around us, if we just pay attention. To a large measure our thoughts, our current thoughts, will create the future that is yet to be.

If we notice and appreciate all that’s great around us and in us, then we truly live today; and we create an amazing tomorrow because our thoughts today are made up of all that’s beautiful!

What can you use to remind yourself to do that? Daily?

What we truly want

Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances. – Linda Dillow

What do we truly want and where are we headed? These questions are at the heart of all our desires. When we buy things or undertake any life action based on our desires, we are really trying to uncover ourselves. We’re trying to understand and comprehend our place in the Universe. Now there’s a more direct way, a way that can be more fulfilling and joyous.

And that is to be more conscious of what you do, what you desire and why……

You’ve heard of prime numbers but have you heard of the 2 prime questions or the 2 Prime Quests!? They are:

  1. Who Am I: The quest towards self-knowledge. What keeps me going? Why? What do I really seek? It’s a never ending process to uncover bits of yourself. It’s possible to be very effective in this quest if we’re conscious of our driving motivations.
  2. Why am I here: A quest towards understanding our place in the Universe. Why are things the way they are? Here you try and understand how you fit into the grand scheme of things…….

So what does this have to do with the quote above? When we begin to know ourselves and our place, a certain contentment starts to replace the constant drive to get something or get someplace. The quest to achieve continues but in a very different way………….
