The forgiving state of mind is a magnetic power for attracting good. – Catherine Ponder
Yesterday I mentioned that you can light the candle of love (to remove fear) inside your heart and gain direct access to an endless flow of love from the Universal Source. The ‘how of it’ is done by simply being in a state of forgiveness.
- Forgive yourself: At the deepest level as well as for the trifles of life.
- Forgive all: Forgive all those who have wronged you; even those who irritate you and especially those who you resent.
When you do that you open a spiritual channel (even a physical one) where you’re now able to receive actual love from the Divine Source. Try the following specifically:
Sit and try one of the Stillness techniques. Then connect with God (Universal Mind) via prayer. If you don’t believe in a personal God then simply sit after this stillness practice; now start forgiving. As you forgive you’ll feel a corresponding lightness in your body, especially around your heart. This, over time, will allow joy to surge inside you. You will be healed of many physical and psychological ailments. Repeat daily.
Forgiveness opens you up to receive love, which heals, at the deepest levels. To go all the way, there’s another step, tell you about it tomorrow!

The Father in heaven loves his children, and therefore should you learn to love one another; the Father in heaven forgives you your sins; therefore should you learn to forgive one another. – Jesus, The Urantia Book
That’s all there is to it!
Love because we all deserve it, and who to give it, except us to others? When we love, we can’t help but feel that emotion ourselves, we thus end up loving our own selves, makes for a better personality and better health!
Forgive because that truly opens us to receive inspiration from God. Otherwise we’re lost in our thoughts about how we were wronged! Ends up causing poorer health!
So the recipe for happiness and good health is Love and Forgive!

Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness. – Marianne Williamson (Video)
How many resentments can we harbor? We pay a price for each resentment that we make our own. We can never truly rest or be peaceful until the psychological baggage of any resentment is resolved. And that transaction is completed only when we truly forgive.
Here’s a secret. God’s love and forgiveness can’t be felt in our heart until we can completely forgive all those who might have hurt us in anyway. It makes for a major spiritual block. Try this right now, in your mind find someone who irritates you or who you haven’t forgiven yet. Now visualize them and completely forgive them if you can. If you do, you’ll immediately feel a very palpable peace (a lightness) descend into your heart.
Forgiveness is the first step to peace, even to effective meditation. Ideally we should forgive daily.
