How To Live A Meaningful Life

Like human fish,

we are asked to experience

meaning in the life that moves

through the gill of our heart.

The Way Under The Way – Mark Nepo

meaning

We are individuations of the great spirit. We’ve set out on this journey to experience life as only we can. We learn and grow as we capture meaning. The more deeply we live life the better we’ll pierce the mystery that it is. Life is to be lived fully and from the heart! Let’s do it!

affirmations

I AM God’s expression today. I know that all’s well. Life is great today and will provide everything I need on a continual basis. God’s perfection is running through my veins. God’s desires are being expressed through my being. I’m God’s child and I know it. Life is good, life is God.

Why Be Idle?

Work is not always required. There is such a thing as sacred idleness, the cultivation of which is now fearfully neglected.  – George Macdonald

being or doing?

What keeps us from just being, rather than always doing? What do we fear, is it boredom? Do we fear our past or being alone?

just being

Just being allows for deep rejuvenation and connection. Such a non-activity replenishes our body, mind and spirit. It’s time when we can experience self across these 3 dimensions. We allow for healing to  take place. Healing that leads to a healthy body, a clear mind and a purposeful spirit. Why would we not jump at this opportunity?

Why Be Still?

I will be still, and let the earth be still with me. And in that stillness we will find the Peace of God, for it is within my heart.A Course in Miracles (ACIM)

chaos

Most days we’re battling the chaos in our lives, which gets heightened by the chaotic state of our minds. Recognizing this condition is an important first step if we’re to discover the peace that resides within us.

stillness

Stillness creates space, a continuum for spirit to communicate with us. A space where peace is readily found. Let’s give it a try today…

What’s Wrong With Our Thoughts?

Consider how much more you suffer from your anger and grief than from the very things for which you are angry and grieved.  – Marcus Aurelius

suffer

We worry and grieve about a lot of things, even on a daily basis. Actually we’re experts at it! Why do we suffer so much?

thoughts

Our incessant thoughts and our inability to step away from their manufacturing process is the big culprit here. Let’s mull over that…

Using A Hammer?

If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.  – Abraham Harold Maslow

hammer?

How often do we use a hammer to solve just about every problem?

We do this by:

  • Being set in our own ways
  • By only looking at people and issues with past-colored glasses
  • By thinking we already know the answer
  • By thinking of a response when another is still talking
  • By not sitting and just being, trying to jump in to fix a situation or problem
  • Through our habitual thinking patterns

hypnotized

When will we snap out of this hypnotic way of being? When we do then the sunlight appears more alive, the air more fragrant; we connect with the other person and Life itself at a deeper level.

Why Forgive?

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.  – Suzanne Somers

why?

Forgiveness enables deep healing to occur inside us. It’s a healing that makes the mind sane and the body healthier. It’s a soothing salve that works wonders. At a spiritual level forgiveness allows for a smooth flow of energies in your body that might otherwise be hampered. Once we free that energy up, via forgiveness, we’ll feel better in all respects!

eft

Another way to achieve similar results is to use EFT: a form of affirmations and acupressure tapping. Use EFT to free the energy flow in the body to become healthier emotionally and therefore physically! More info here and here.
