You want a better, more fraternal, more just world? Well then, start building it: Who is stopping you? Build it inside yourself and around you, build it with those who want it. Build it small, and it will grow. – Lanza del Vasto
we must be the change
Look in the mirror first. How can we change? How can I change? The change must be sweeping, where we deal kindly with our children, colleagues, everyone… How else can it be systemic within us?
I like to call it the ELK Principle, Extreme Loving and Kindness towards anyone we touch daily. Start with kind thoughts for yourself. Design each thought to be loving and lovely. Try to see the innocence and magnificence in every human. Mentally utter a Namaste to them. Very hard to do consistently, let’s try though.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. – Maria Robinson
can’t go back
This week’s quotes are all about beginnings given this is the start of a brand new decade!!
Although we love to dwell on the past, do so only while reminiscing pleasant memories, stay away from the unpleasant kind. You create your own thoughts, learn to control their quality and output!
The thoughts you dwell on are actualizing your present and creating your future. Choose them wisely, realize your creative abilities as a child of the Universe. Dwell on positive emotions, life is too short. Craft your life with intent and design, that’s how it works!
Recommendation: The Secret
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. – Edith Lovejoy Pierce

The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul. – G.K. Chesterton
new years have come and gone
Here comes another one.
How will it be ‘new’ for you?
build a new soul
Focus on that which truly matters. Your soul; your innermost nature.
What would that look like?
This blog takes a break; time to be with family, see you back on Jan 1st, 2010!
Recommendation: Take it easy, enjoy the love around you, reflect and ruminate.
The fool wonders, the wise man asks. – Benjamin Disraeli
We often ask ourselves; what should I do next? That’s a great step forward, we must ask first. What then? Often we keep asking and nothing seems to happen? What’s going on?
Nothing seems to happen because we’re expecting a certain answer! And we only look for that particular answer and glaze over everything else.
We need to be free of any expectations, and once we’re free, just look!
Look for signs from the Universe. They come to us in an infinite variety of ways, through people, situations, inanimate objects, you name it. Observation is key.
Once you observe something that appears to be a sign. Take the action that’s called for. If you do; more signs will appear, they always do. You’re now actively on your journey of self and Universe discovery!!
Recommendation: Tao Te Ching
Don’t seek reality, just put an end to opinions. – Sheng-ts’an (Zen Monk)
what do you seek?
And how do you go about it?
Notice how you think. You often examine one object, situation or person then compare it with something else. This constant comparison is a major cause of the constant chatter in our minds.
Recognize that, find peace.

Be gentle with yourself, learn to love yourself, to forgive yourself, for only as we have the right attitude toward ourselves can we have the right attitude toward others. – Wilfred Peterson
with your own self first
This quote goes to the heart of truthfulness and consistency. If we watch ourselves, we’ll notice our various attitudes towards our own selves. Get to know yourself. And then notice when you’re being unkind to your self. You may do this when you don’t think you can achieve something; or when you think your body’s ugly. You judge thy own self constantly.
and then it follows
Which gives you license to judge others and be unkind to them in different ways. If you’re gentle with your self, consistency demands that you then be gentle with all others. That’s Truth in action.
