Reason, wisdom, and faith are man’s highest human attainments.
The Urantia Papers, (103:9.6)
These attainments have nothing to do with career, business or fame, at least directly; instead they involve those aspects of life that we will carry with us even beyond this life!
These 3 areas cover the major aspects of life:
- Reason: Is about developing your mind and intellect. Reason guides us regarding the things of this world. A well developed intellect is essential for any kind of worldly achievement. Reason is about IQ.
- Wisdom: Wisdom is all about finding truth, dealing with others and relationships. And thus is a crucial quality to have, it’s about Emotional Quotient or EQ!
- Faith: Opens the door to everything else that’s essential to our lives. It’s the path to a life of religion; knowing God or Universal Mind, it leads to the very source of everything. Faith is eventually about LQ, Love Quotient, because the real fruit of ‘true religion’ is the blossoming of a pure love, from within.

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough. – Oprah Winfrey
Fear and love cannot co-exist, we must make place for love to replace fear. Forgiveness is the key to opening the channel of love; passing that love on to others increases your experience of love and joy.
Finally gratitude is the next step in cementing your foothold on a fulfilling life overflowing with joy and purpose!
After you’ve forgiven one and all (Forgiving for our own sake…), spend time just being thankful for everyone and everything in your life. You’ll feel the joy swell up in your being as you do that.
Life is simple; Life is good. Enjoy it!

The forgiving state of mind is a magnetic power for attracting good. – Catherine Ponder
Yesterday I mentioned that you can light the candle of love (to remove fear) inside your heart and gain direct access to an endless flow of love from the Universal Source. The ‘how of it’ is done by simply being in a state of forgiveness.
- Forgive yourself: At the deepest level as well as for the trifles of life.
- Forgive all: Forgive all those who have wronged you; even those who irritate you and especially those who you resent.
When you do that you open a spiritual channel (even a physical one) where you’re now able to receive actual love from the Divine Source. Try the following specifically:
Sit and try one of the Stillness techniques. Then connect with God (Universal Mind) via prayer. If you don’t believe in a personal God then simply sit after this stillness practice; now start forgiving. As you forgive you’ll feel a corresponding lightness in your body, especially around your heart. This, over time, will allow joy to surge inside you. You will be healed of many physical and psychological ailments. Repeat daily.
Forgiveness opens you up to receive love, which heals, at the deepest levels. To go all the way, there’s another step, tell you about it tomorrow!

Fear and love can never be experienced at the same time. It is always our choice as to which of these emotions we want. – Gerald Jampolsky
The emotions of fear and love, cannot at any given moment be felt simultaneously. Which means one simple thing: When you feel fear, or when you want to get rid of fear you ought to somehow experience love.
How do you do that? Just like other habits that we form, living in fear or dwelling in negative thoughts can be a debilitating habit. The opposite is true too. Form the habit of being happy, positive and appreciate all that you have including your loved ones.
Love also flows freely from the fountain that is inside you, the Universal Mind or God. Tomorrow I’ll share a basic step anyone can take to start feeling that love very readily!

The quieter you become, the more you can hear. – Ram Dass
True silence can do wonders. True silence is that of the mind not that of the audible kind. As we become more still, we can observer better, we listen more intently, we perceive a lot more and our sense of intuition flowers! Inspiration and creativity is heightened when we let our mind settle down naturally.
How do you do that?
Watch yourself. Watch as thoughts arise, notice their origin, and where they lead you. Observe how you act or react to any incident. Get to know yourself intimately, in this fashion. Your effortless watching of self leads to a quiet alertness that connects you to the essence of all that is.
A peace beyond understanding, a joy inexpressible, emerges!

Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances. – Linda Dillow
What do we truly want and where are we headed? These questions are at the heart of all our desires. When we buy things or undertake any life action based on our desires, we are really trying to uncover ourselves. We’re trying to understand and comprehend our place in the Universe. Now there’s a more direct way, a way that can be more fulfilling and joyous.
And that is to be more conscious of what you do, what you desire and why……
You’ve heard of prime numbers but have you heard of the 2 prime questions or the 2 Prime Quests!? They are:
- Who Am I: The quest towards self-knowledge. What keeps me going? Why? What do I really seek? It’s a never ending process to uncover bits of yourself. It’s possible to be very effective in this quest if we’re conscious of our driving motivations.
- Why am I here: A quest towards understanding our place in the Universe. Why are things the way they are? Here you try and understand how you fit into the grand scheme of things…….
So what does this have to do with the quote above? When we begin to know ourselves and our place, a certain contentment starts to replace the constant drive to get something or get someplace. The quest to achieve continues but in a very different way………….

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. – Mahatma Gandhi
Imagine entering your bedroom, shutting the door behind you to the day’s worries, the hustle and the noise. You are now feeling very calm and settled. Next you sit (or lie) down and settle into a quiet repose. You now experience a peace and joy that’s impossible to describe to anyone else!
This is a good description of what Meditation/Stillness feels like. It’s something you can practice even beyond the confines of your private retreat.
Meditation Tips: Below is a first step towards learning how to practice stillness. About once a week I’ll be sharing a new tip, the series will guide you into meditating like a pro!
Meditation Tip #1: Try this. Notice the palm of your hand. Just experience it for what it is, don’t create a thought about it. Now put your attention on your breath and just experience it. Breathe in/out normally.
Most of us are lost in the inner chatter of our mind making up thoughts about everyone and everything. As you notice your body you enter the present moment and it stays that way until your mind manufactures a thought about the experience.
Now all day try to recreate moments like these, become present by noticing your body/breath and don’t think about it, just experience it.
This is the first step (and actually the last….tell you more later) towards stillness, peace and calm!!
